  1. I have much the same problem. Checked fuses they're all OK. Locking the car with the central locking button on the drivers door works. But pressing any button on the remote has no effect. Car starts with the same key etc. I have replaced the battery already. tried the various programme guides on here, but none has solved my problem yet. if you do find a solution please do post it on here as I would be very keen to solve it on my car as well. regards, George
  2. I am having the same issue, just keeping it in a straight line is quite a task! My guess is the front lower ball joints, they're not expensive (£50 a set from eBay) and not that hard to fit. I am taking a chance and replacing mine. I'll update after they're fitted on if it solved the 'clunk' and steering drift issue. Worth doing the wheel alignment and geometry as well, folks on here suggest going to Wheels in Motion for that, it seems they're the only ones able to get it right.
  3. Issue number 3 with my IS200. I need to replace the front lower ball joints and have seen some advertised on eBay @ £50 for a set, but then it is not genuine Toyota/Lexus parts. or I can get the genuine Lexus part for double the price. my question: are there any difference? would the Lexus part last longer?
  4. RESULT!!! I contacted the previous owner and offered him £30 if he can come up with the key. Guess what I got in the mail today?!!!
  5. Right, an update. Phone various tyre places in the Enfield area, Kwik-Fit (aka Slow-Fit), ATS-Euromaster and none say they can remove it. Then phoned Lexus, they'e quoting me £25 for a replacement set and an hours labour + vat, total £150!!! sh*t!! Why do you need an hours labour, you only need the key. They can only supply the key if I have the "key-code" (so says the parts guy), which I am not sure I have, or rather don't know where to find. The labour is if they need to replace the lock nuts with a new set, i.e. force the old ones off.

  7. Ok, issue number two on my impulsive buy of IS200, I noticed it didn't include the key for the alloy wheels. The Toyota branded box which is supposed to contain the key is there, but it's empty. I take it I can order this from a Lexus/Toyota dealership? Anybody an idea about cost? Do I just supply the serial number on the back of this box? Or the car VIN number? anybody knows if this will work? http://www.dynomec.co.uk/index.html
  8. Right, I think I know what the issue is. The ignition barrel is quite worn out, I can even remove the key after the car is started. So I think I am unable to put the car in 'program' because the ignition barrel is not recognising that I inserted the key. does this make sense to anybody?
  9. Hi Neil. Thanks for the reply. I tried this guide: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=64727 But it just never seems to enter "programming mode". after this step: " 6. Put key into ignition. Turn to "ON" , turn off and remove." the car just doesn't do anything. This is frustrating the crap out of me! I have tried both keys, neither one is working. :tsktsk: :tsktsk:
  10. ok. I impulsively bought an IS200 SE Auto (2002) yesterday at a car auction and picked it up at a bargain. But there are some minor issue that needs resolving. first it came without an owners manual (ordered one on ebay, not delivered yet) the keys is the issue right now, the car came with two master keys, I think they are master keys, both has three buttons on, which according to this forum are the master keys. the buttons on both keys didn't work and I replaced the batteries. Both are now working insofar as that the LED comes on when I press a button (unlock/lock/boot), the issue is this has no effect on the car. I can press any button on the key and nothing happens with the car. I can use the key to unlock and start the car, but that is it. Now I have been reading quit a bit on here and thanks for everybody contributing, but I am slightly confused. Do I need to reprogramme something according to some of the "replacement keys" guide on here? or is it just a simple thing that I am missing? if this is a big issue, I have noticed someone on ebay selling an ecu, keys and barrels, would it just be a simple easy swap? any help would be appreciated.
