  1. Hi there So i went o have a look at the car, 59 plate registered in September but still has DVD based system. I think the new hard disk based system started in December 2009. A facelift SE-L MM in a late 59/early 2010 is probably aorund 16-17k from a dealer. I would be grateful for any advice whether the facelift is worth the extra in relation to all the bugs being ironed out The other snag is the SE-L models tend to come with 18" alloys - ride comfort is paramount. Any views on this Thanks
  2. Congratulations, look forward to the pics! I am also looking to purchase an IS250. Looking around, there seems to be quite a price hike to when looking at post-facelifted cars especially as SE-L MM, upto £17k for a 2010 model Considering the IS250 is no longer a current model, it seems a bit daft to pay that much. Apart from the revised styling, headlights etc is the facelift worthy of such a premium? What would be the best compromise in terms of model to get and value for money. Thanks
  3. Thanks very much for the prompt reply. The HDD based ML system with iPod connectivity sounds great. I'm a little confused, in that if you look at this example this is a 2009 (59) car but seem to imply has old ML DVD based system http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-IS/IS-250/2.5-SE-L/Birmingham/1760689-602993338-1607039.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_ This car was registered in September 2009 and has the facelift lights but seems to have the old multimedia system. I am going by the website and have not checked this with the dealer. Is there a month onwards from which the new ML system came in Thanks again Normski for the reply and your other useful posts to this forum, they have certainly helped me a lot!
  4. Hi there I am looking to purchase an IS250 soon. My budget is around £10-12k although I could stretch a little higher. I would appreciate if you could offer advice whether I should spend £10-12k on 2007/8 model IS250 or whether the 2009 facelift is worth the extra £2-3k. Furthermore, the multimedia pack seems strongly recommended. Is it worth holding out for an SE-L MM model or worth going for an SE/SE I with MM Any ideas when the HDD based navigation unit became available and whether this still has Mark Levinson or was this dropped from the HDD units (something a dealer previously mentioned to me) Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. Thank you for all your helpful comments. It is reassuring to hear about Lexus reliability extends to the hybrid system also. I have noticed most GS450h cars around the 2008/9 year (budget of 16-17k max) have 18" alloys. This worries me a little as my s class had 18" alloys which I eventually changed to 17" to improve low speed road quality especially on bad inner city roads. What is the ride quality on the GS450 on 18" alloys?
  6. Hi, I would be grateful for some advice, I currently have a 2008 S-class, 320 CDI. I have had a few reliability issues this year and hence I am looking at perhaps changing for a Lexus. Initially I looked at the IS250, however, this may be a little too small especially in the rear, hence I am now looking at the GS300 or 450h I would be grateful for any advice, tips you could offer? There seems to be more choice for the 450h - a little nervous venturing out for the hybrid technology especially on an older car. One attraction is reliability and longevity of Lexus; does one loose this with the hybrid?
