If you test drive the 300, you will definately feel the difference, more power with about the same mpg, Xenon headlights, privacy glass (same as sport), Limited slip diff, in my opinion and of owning a 200 as well the 300 it is well worth it if you have the pennies, I have just done a part ex on my 1999 GS300 Sport with an 02 IS300, looked around for something comparable but kept comming back to the IS

gonna make this one too, as well as 'shaunybaby' and will meet up with everyone who's going to lakeside for a convoy to WIM

Thanks Yank,
who did you find in the US, I'll email them, maybe they can supply the LED assembly

I was quoted £475+vat for the rear spoiler from Lexus Southend 2 weeks ago, all I wanted was the LED brake assembly as this part is no longer available, have they suddenly dropped in price recently or are they trying to make a few bob on top. Have read on other posts different prices for different dealers but that seems to be taking the p**s

Hi Guys,
just picked up my 1999 Gs300 sport, Atlantis Mica Blue, so glad to be back driving a lexus again, and it is such a nice car to drive :D
will get some pictures up soon, just want to keep on driving her at the moment...
only downside is I will now spend all my money doing some mods, suggestions welcome!!
first off though will be:
painted red calipers
clear side repeaters
tints
I like the rear LED light clusters that prolex have, but will they suit the car because of the brake light in the spoiler will not be LED ? anybody got these
:)

There isnt a national data base that Lexus use to record service histories, the details are kept at the dealership that actually did the service.
I found this out when checking out the history for my car.
Unfortunatly lexus did not have any info on the initial car I was looking at, so am going to walk away from it, however I gave them details of another and they confirmed information when it was last serviced and the recorded mileage, so may go for this instead
-
Just spoken with Woodford, need to speak to the service guys and not open until tuesday, nice lady also gave me the number of Lexus Bradford as well (nearest to location to the car)
-
Im sure any Lexus dealership would be able to get the history for you...If the Lexus garage shut i would think that everything was passed to the nearest dealer?
Strange the company not keeping any details! my work keeps everything for 2+ years and we are a small place.
this seemed a little strange to me, also a company car with only 52k, I will give lexus Woodford a call (nearest to me) and see if they have any details
thanks P38Aaron

Hi all,
I am interested in purchasing a GS300 ideally with sat nav, I have seen a low mileage 52,000 from a dealer, but the car has no service history, dealer says it was serviced by a lexus garage which no longer exists and could not get any other information, the car was owned by a company who have not kept any details. I have the registration details, who do I need to speak to to find out the cars history, or should I stay clear of this one.
Thanks for any help

Try giving Lexus Woodford a ring, can highly recommend them.
My 30k service was FREE ! Even better :)
I Have rang Woodford twice now and they still have'nt got back to me, obviously don't need the work, so contacted Cambridge and they quoted £355.68, better price than Southend, I contacted a local garage who I have used before and they quoted £120, I would have liked to have Lexus service the car but the costs do not justify it
-
Awaiting a phone call back from Woodford to see how much they are going to quote me for the same service and will let you guy's know, however as it's near closing time I don't expect that will be today
-
My IS300 is coming up for it's 30,000 mile service, so phoned Lexus Southend and they quoted £389.30 including vat, that's just too much
-
I traded my auto is200 for a 300 and was instantly suprised how different they are, the 300 is much quicker, if you have the option of a 300 definitely go for it
-
I'm on.......but not in a monthly way
-
Buy mine for a fraction of the cost, open to offers .
They are £18k on the forecourt, same age as mine.
very nice car and in the colour that i'm looking for, mine's black and gets dirty imediatly after washing it..........got to ask y u would want to sell it though :D
-
thanks guys, sounds like the is300 is a better bet, will have too go to lexus hadleigh and see what they can do for me.

Hi Everyone,
I am looking to change my is200 auto because I feel it lacks power, I have added an HKS silent viper exhaust which has made a differance especially mid range, but would like it a bit meatier. Has anyone any comments on the + & -'s between the is200 & is300, would appreciate your views.
Many thanks.
