  1. COME AND JOIN US FOR A PARTY IN PARADISE This event provides a very special opportunity, combining the Caribbean climate, beautiful turquoise beaches and a Rally Carnival, where you can get to the heart of the action and socialise with the Rally drivers – a rare chance for any Rally enthusiast The Rally - Barbados has been Rallying for forty-five years, you'll find the cars and international drivers to be very competitive, and the dense network of paved public roads are especially suitable to tarmac rallying and have character, as diverse as anywhere in the world. The new rallysprint track at Vaucluse Raceway has been hailed as world-class and adds new dimension to local rallyists' motorsport experience. The Carnival - this is really what it's all about. We're here to have a good time and forget some of the more serious aspects of our day-to-day lives. Submerse yourself for a while in the task at hand: to fit as much partying, socialising and motorsport enjoyment into fourteen days of RallySprinting, tarmac stage-rallying, cruising, beach parties, dinners, and all of the other activities we've arranged. Take some time to get to know the competitors, organisers, service personnel, marshals and fans. We're all here to enjoy the atmosphere that good motorsport brings and be part of this unique experience. On the eve of the running of the Monte Carlo Rally, read the attached excellent article comparing that rally and the Rally Carnival by Alan “Plum” Tyndall for the Sporting Barbados magazine. 2. OK, I finally have the car (got it on Friday afternoon). It came with a massive Blitz exhaust, as well as a CAI and exhaust header of unknown origin. WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!! Wheelspin in 1st, wheelspin when changing from 1st to 2nd, all the while the TC indicator is flashing. The car just begs to be driven. I put 350km on it this weekend, which is quite a feat for an island of 166 sq. miles total. I find that entering corners off throttle causes a bit of understeer, apply the throttle and the line tightens. This is my 1st time ever driving a RWD vehicle, so I'm not yet going to try wild power oversteer - yet :D . I also realized that it is possible to lock the rear tires when gearing down - not cool My only gripe is that cornering under power (roundabouts) induces miserable body roll. It seems I have to invest in some Eibachs. Anyway, back to work. I just had to share. Handbrake2.
  3. I'm getting it via a local dealer here in Barbados. It's costing me approx $11K US for a 1999 car with 50,000km. I'm not sure what that equates to in pounds.
  4. It's a manual RS200 Z-edition. It appears to be standard except for a Momo stering wheel, silver centre console facia, cold air intake and exhaust. But that's enough ... Pics coming soon.
  5. I know that the RS200Z has traction control which attempts to keep the rear tyres from wheelspin under power. I'm wondering if it also has an available Dynamic Stability Control (or whatever Toyota might call it) to keep the car from under/oversteer? Handbrake2.
  6. The following sites sell parts for the Altezza: Japan Parts Taka Kaira In addition, Overdrive Japan allows you to specify your type of Japanese car, including engine and chassis numbers. They then send you a complete parts list for your car from which you can specify what parts you want to purchase from them. Regards, Handbrake2.
  7. Kavey, did you have the facia around the new head unit custom made? Handbrake2.
  8. Hey Dor, I'm expecting my Altezza in 2 weeks. Did you by any chance get that information that you were looking for. I would also be interested in it. Regards, Handbrake2.
  9. Thanks, but before I think of changing the stock head unit I would be interested to know how good the stock unit sounds and the number/type of speakers that the car comes with. Does the car have separate mid-range and tweeters or just a bunch of full range speakers, and can the stock unit also drive a sub without additional crossovers and amps? I would be very interested, however, to see what the Kenwood unit looks like installed. I really wonder how it alters the look of the center console. I you were to still post the pics I would appreciate it. Thanks, Handbrake2.
  10. Hi, I'm hopefully 2 weeks from being the proud owner of a white 1999 Altezza RS200Z. :zee: From reading the previous posts I see that people have various levels of satisfaction with their stereos. I would like to ask you guys some questions? 1. I'm really into MP3's and I want to buy a Kenwood Digital Music Keg. Has anyone ever gotten an MP3 jukebox to work with their stock head unit? If so what's required? 2. How good are the stereo and speakers? I see that the US IS300 has an optional 240 watt, 8 speaker unit. Is this standard on the RS200Z, and if not is it a straight swap? Thanks, Handbrake2.
