    I know it was a while ago but how did you sort it in the end? I've got the same prob with a mk1. Sorry but cannot help you as I am still without sound. I personally do not dare dismantle the head unit and am still trying to locate someone locally who specializes in these things.

    Thanks again. Checked all the fuses you suggested, but still no joy. Obviously, I need to look at the head unit in the glove box area next.

    Thanks for the info. My CD is located in the glove box but I will do some more checking.

    Thanks for your reply. The two fuses I checked were the the two marked 'radio', one was in the engine compartment and the other in the drivers footwell.

    There is no sound on my stereo although the display, tape and CD are working. I've checked both fuses for the stereo in the engine compartment and drivers footwell and they are fine. Any suggestions?
