  1. Hi guys, Just a quickie, I am looking at Parrots and stuff, but I wondered how you guys have found it works best? In my last IS200, the guy had one of those arrangements where it was connected to an unused FM frequency, and that worked well. What have you used?
  2. Hi, I wondered if people had experience with this. My old IS200 had previously been fitted with an aftermarket device that I plugged into my Ipod and it scanned for a designated unused FM signal. The quality was really good. Is this the best option for an 03 IS200, or would anyone suggest anything else? Thank you!
  3. Hey I swapped out my lower ball joints, removing the ABS sensors in the process. I replaced them carefully, but now the brakes seem odd. They brake smoothly to just before stop, then they judder (as if i've hit a patch of ice) then grab..... Could I have messed the sensors up?
  4. Lol thanks Ormi, I just can't get enough clearance underneath, and hitting upwards is a really odd angle! I'm figuring I just have to keep walloping it until it gives. I'm a 17 stone rugby player, and i'm giving it some clout, but it hasn't even thought about moving yet, I'm really getting cross!! Three days on a bolt thats not even threaded!!
  5. Thanks for your help guys, I sorted the nut in the end..... I have a different problem now. on the other side (the off side) all the nuts came off fine, but the part will not remove. The bolt that comes off the ball joint itself is seized hard in the hole. I have tried everything I can think off. i've left it for two nights soaked in WD40, respraying several times, i've put the trolley Jack underneath it and left that overnight.....i've been going at it all day with a lump hammer..... I don't know what else to do.......can you help?
  6. Thanks rudus (for both your replies) You are a very helpful man! I'm sure I will be posting many more of these silly questions, as I learn lol
  7. Hey, I'm replacing my lower ball joint, and the castle nut on the track rod end on one side has been shredded. It was seized on, and is now basically useless. Does anyone know what I should ask for to ensure I get the right nut? I'm sorry for asking stupid questions....
  8. Hey experts, please help (and be gentle with me) I'm a complete novice at this, and I am changing my lower ball joints, helped by that amazing blow by blow account thats on here..... Only problem is, on my first corner, I just cannot for the life of me shift the nut on the track rod arm (the smaller of the two. To be fair it took all of my 17 stone, and a length of pipe over the wrench handle to crack off the two nuts that hold the joint onto the wheel hub assembly, and i managed to loosen off the nut on the track rod, and split the ball easily enough, but the other nut will not shift for anything. I've sprayed it very generously with WD40 and am going to leave it overnight to soak in, then attack it again in the morning. Any advise or ideas? Feel free to laugh if i have missed something really obvious, its more than likely :-)
  9. Hi I'm a complete novie, and making a list of things I'd like to do to my completely stocks IS200s. I want to put a new exhaust system on, but I have no idea how to decide what to get, brand, type etc... Can anyone offer me advice as a total noob? Thank you all
  10. Cheers Dave, I' getting quite excited about this, i'm making a list of all the stuff I want to do, and I ahve some gear waiting to be fitted (new ball joints and stuff) I reckon I could have got the bug! I've been on ebay for hours checking out the look of different stuff, then onto here to look at what people say about each thing!! Its madness!! No I think Ormi's car looks very cool, bit hardcore for me, but the amount of work he's done is terrifying! I'm sure it won't be long til i get oily hands.......
  11. Excellent idea Rudus, I've been looking at post after post on here, I'm going to paint the calipers black and also the hub part of the wheel, The Ronal R42 18s will show that off lovely. I think i'm going to do a few bits like, debadged sport grille, debadge the body, perhaps do some cosmetic work to the lights, i want it to look subtle.....i'll post pics as I go......don't laugh though, cos it is totally stock at the moment, complete with scuffed to hell 5 spoke factory 17s, ans looks like its on stilts!! And remember I am a virgin to this. I've been reading about Ormi's car, and it terrifys me!!
  12. Hi guys, I drive an IS200 (2000 86K miles) Its in lovely nick and i am a mod virgin...... I've been lurking here and drooling over your pics, and I want to do a few things to start off slow!! My car is Platinum Silver, and I'm going to get some really nice simple 5 spoke alloys for it. As these are going to be so open, I am going to paint my calipers (nice black i thought) To set these off, I fancied black brake discs, does anyone have them? Or know where I can get them? Thanks!!
