what about if the car exploded while parked up, will the insurance company pay then? surely the fire/theft part of the policy should cover the explosion???

my mates car burnt out while parked on a hot summers day, about 2 years ago and the insurance company wrote the car off and paid out.

i am pretty sure eBay have stopped sellers leaving negative feedback. To cover your back, pay for the item via paypal.

depends how much current you are drawing, you need to have the correct size cabling for your amps. you should have a thick wire going from the front to the back of the car, with a fuse at the front and a fuse at the back. The earthing for the amp is also very important.

the pioneer is good value for money, you can buy a good screen for about 500-600 but then you have to add the sat-nav to it which would be another 500-600. with the pioneer you get satnav and Bluetooth phone aswell.

for headunits look at the new piooner double din, does everything you can ever wish for :)

to do this, i have used a toad window closure module, becuase of the is200 electronics you have to feed two wires into each door, and cutt the original postive up window wire and put the two wires from the module there. for the trigger you use the output which is described in the side mirror instructions on here, done mine over a year ago and works fine.

the toad window module was about £40 to buy.

they are around £40 now from Lexus dealers!!

AJ: sorted_vti suggested the same thing as i did. When you get a weekend free, give it a go. I've not encountered the little rattle you guys speak of, but then eh, i don't really have a dash.

on a more serious note, i had a rattle coming and thought it was coming from behind the dash, but it turned out to be a screw that had come loose and was moving around inside the front centre reading light, check that first.

got my 6 year service coming up soon, and i think its the one where they change the spark plugs.

Was wondering if the lexus ones are the best to go for(and if anyone knows how much they are), or are there others ones which are better and last the same if not longer than the oem ones?

I have just fitted mintex pads on the front got them of eBay,

£23 pound delivered, seem to be less brake dust and a bit more bite, than oem pads.

it fools the satnav in thinking the oem headunit is still there.

there is a way to bypass, so that the nav still continues to function.

I think pro-lex one of the traders on here do the part.

yo have to run wires to each door because there is a security unit in between the wires from the drivers side door.

i have auto closure of windows and folding of mirrors of the standard keyfob.

i used geoffers mirror folding instructions and got myself a toad window closure module, i then ran two wires to each door.

it works perfectly, bit of a pain to do.

overpowering your speakers to a certain extent, like say 25% more of thier rated power will be fine, distortation/clipping will kill your speakers before you can kill them by overpowering them. my front speaker set is rated @ 200rms each side, i am putting atleast 400rms each side :)

there is no wiring loom available, you will need to bypass the amp and then put in new rear speakers.

search for is200se amp bypass and it should come up with the instructions.
