  1. need a bit of help and advice please! I just replaced the timing belt and all the drive belts on my is200 (never done it before), everything went okay but I now have a squeel when engine is idling. The noise seems to disappear at higher revs. Could it be the water pump which wasn't noisy before or is it possible that I have the wrong tension on the drive belt, and if so how do I check it? Any advice would be appreciated - Thanks alos posted this on my status - got confused!

  3. I plan on changing the oil in my 2003 is200, so got underneath the car and located the oil filter, which is really well hidden and tricky to get to. I discovered that I was never going to get the filter off without a cup wrench. The current filter is a Lexus standard part, but can anyone tell me what size it is and how many flutes so I can buy the correct tool? Thanks for your help!
  4. Thanks for your help; bought one from Bumpy Rides and it arrived last Friday. Will fit it this week!
  5. Tried Biggred but they didn't have one on the shelf; they offered to refurb. mine but as I need the car every day I couldn't go that route. Also tried brake-eng. but they only ship to factors. Any other suggestions?
  6. Hi Steve, thanks for your response! I am leaning towards a re-engineered caliper and I've seen a link to this company http://www.brake-eng.com on the LOC site; do you know them? I have not been in touch with them yet but I will contact both them and bigred. Cheers
  7. Hi - I have an is200 SportCross 2003 with a sticking caliper piston on the n/s front. Thought I might repair it using a refurbish kit, but have just replaced the slide pins thinking that was the problem; it wasn’t. I guess I have a couple of options; 1 - get a new caliper (didn't want to pay the OEM price though), or 2- remove the piston, clean it up and renew the seals etc. If I do a refurb can someone tell me how to remove the sticking piston? Also if I opt for a remanufactured calliper am I likely to experience brake inbalance if I only do one side? Thanks for your help
  8. Hi, I have just registered, I have an IS200 Sportcross and was interested to read members problems with rattles or knocking from NSF/OSF when going over road humps and similar. I have had this car for a couple of years (and the rattle/knock since I bought it from Lexus Guildford) they have not been able to fix it so thought I might try replacing the Caliper Slide Pin - good site!
