  1. I have just had a new dvd player installed on our 2004 RX300 SEL ( different make with its own controller). The original controller is no longer needed and you are welcome to give it a try to see if it will work on your unit. It measures 124mm x 54mm x 5mm and has 40 buttons, some blue, some silver. I also have the original owner's manual, and the original DVD unit, which was never faultless however much I fiddled with it.
  2. I shall be grateful if anyone can shed any light on a mysterious problem on my wife's 2004 RX300 (44k miles). About 5 or 6 times in the last 8 or 9 months we have experienced, in normal driving, a very loud bang, or rather a crack like a stone hitting the windscreen, at which point the radio goes off and stays off. It will come back on later or the following morning as if nothing had happened. Lexus suggest taking out the radio and sending it away, but I don't feel the radio is the root of the problem, but perhaps some sort of electrical short or faulty relay. Has anyone had a similar experience?
