  1. I've  been trying to transfer my phone book to my car with no success. I have followed the instructions in the manual, but after 30 minutes or more, nothing has been transferred. the screen just says "Transferring contacts". What am i missing? I can create contacts manually, but i have nearly 200 contacts!

My car is a 07 plate SE with the Mark Levinson system. Thanks for your tips in advance.

  2. Just had my 07 SE for a couple of weeks now, and loving it. I now feel it's time to start improving it. The first job is to change the headlight bulbs, as the factory ones are so poor .I've come from a BMW with xenons, so obviously these weak halogens are not going to do it for me. I've seen a set of PIAA Hyper Arros bulbs advertised  as 3900k  Brilliant White, but i would like some opinions or recommendations from club members. HID Kits are now illegal due to new MOT rules,so its either quality halogens or a set of LEDS bulbs.

Next job will be new brake pads all around and then looking at the options for adding a bit more oomph to the Bass on the  Mark Levinson system. Thanks for your opinions in advance.

  3. I'm Back! Picked a 07 plate SE yesterday. I was looking for a SEL but could not resist  this red beauty. The wheels have been refurbished, and finished in matte black. The one feature i had to have was the Mark Levinson system.

After 3 years with a BMW 330i , i forgot how good these cars really are. The beemer killed my enthusiasm for driving. It handled really well, but it was so fragile. My wife also drives a BMW(325i), and her car is just as fragile, so I sold mine whilst it was still worth something.

Ready to start upgrading my IS250. Any recommendations for some new halogen bulbs? This will be my first task, I've been used to having xenon's for the last five years, so need something a lot brighter than the standard halogens.

  4. Having left the Lexus scene 3 years for a BMW 330i, it is time to return to the fold. I looked at a 07 plate SEL today that had 100k miles on the clock. My Beemer is a 06 plate with 80k and a msport edition. My wife also has a beemer , so high maintenance bills.

The Lexus i viewed today had service stamps from Lexus up to 80k , but no repair bills. it was generally in good nick, but when i pressed `Agree' on the touchscreen, nothing happened. Does this mean the disc is missing, or something far more sinister? I really want a SEL with all the toys and obviously don't want to part with any cash. the dealer offered a swap plus £300 cash my way. Any advice would be most appreciated.

  5. I have a feeling that the theives were going to use the imposter for more crimes; why else would they have a set of phoney plates made up? Yes I have been very lucky but not totally impressed with plod. I stopped a traffic officer and told him that I had found the imposter, but he said, "Sorry Sir, but I cannot help you. I suggest you call 101". Even the 101 operator was stunned, and asked for the officers badge number.

  6. Breakdown service came but unable to start the car.Even with a Battery pack it wouldn't start. Seems like the alternator has failed. There is a slight smell of burning like if you catch a plastic bag on your exhaust. All in all a really crappy day. Starting to have second thoughts about this car. 1 ignition coil, 1 seized brake caliper, 1 cloned licence plate and now an alternator all in the space of 1 year. Only 60k on the clock.

  7. I recently received some parking tickets that were not for my car. Although the notices had my plate number, my car had never been in this part of London.I reported problem to the parking agency who issued the notices and my local police station. I was told that the tax disc did not match the license plate number. Using the address from the parking notices, I went on search of said vehicle. Lo and behold, I found a Lexus Is250 with the same plate number as mine!

The police are waiting for a recovery truck to take away the impostor now as I am typing this message. The other car was stolen last year and used in a burglary. Please keep your car keys in a safe place.More details to follow...
