  1. Hi Robert, I've charged my battery when necessary with it in the car and connected with no apparent ill effects - always connected the earth last and then switched charger on
  2. The moisture absorber has now been in the car for 2 weeks and when I drove it yesterday - no more heavy condensation on the inside of the windows - but about 1/4" of water in the absorber pot - fingers crossed, this might be the solution - but will still check the seals all round when the weather permits - still no further forward on where the aircon water drain tubes are located.
  3. Hi Paul I know the feeling - I have an old XJSC in mine which I haven't even started for yonks so my Sc spends its life outside - maybe have to consider a carport.
  4. Hi Paul, Tony and Richard, Thanks for your posts - always great to hear from other enthusiasts. Bought one of the Unibond Aero 360 Pure moisture absorbers and so far seems to at least have an effect - currently available from Wilkos at half price. Will let you know if it has a long term effect. when there is a dry day - when!!!! - I will check the rest of the car over, though with so many seals who knows what will be found. With the condensation on the inside of the window when its wound down is one I will give special attention to as of course with condensation on the inside in the first place you wouldn't notice it - well spotted that man! Happy motoring to you all - haven't seen another 430 for over 3 months now - are we a dying breed?
  5. Hi John and Steve - thanks for the suggestions. Aircon always on except when the roof is down so will certainly try the crystals idea. Still no wiser as to where the aircon water drain hose is!
  6. Hi and a happy new year to all. For the last couple of winters when I have owned my beloved SC430, I get heavy condensation on the inside of the windows. The car isn't used that regularly - maybe once every 10 days or so and there are no obvious leak signs or damp smells anywhere that I can see. I dry it out, drive it and get it lovely warm a clear of all condensation - yet the same night or the next day it is back again Anybody suffer this problem and have a solution. Some general web surfing suggests that the aircon water outlets may be choked up - no idea at all where these would be. Tony
  7. Hi All I certainly like the idea of a meet - but coming from Heathrow area the trek is a serious consideration - presumably we don't have enough members in this area to have one? But I wouldn't rule it out
  8. Hi Alan - a spare wheel would leave no room for any luggage - boots small enough as it is! Hi Mark - thanks for reply - have green flag full cover - and yes the idea of the gunk has always worried me - the service technician couldn't tell me if the kit was still useable even though out of date!
  9. Hi Just been yold at my service that the Tyre inflation kit is out of date and they are not any replacements available. Anybodyelse faced this and if so whats the answer. regards Tony ps haven't got run flat tyres.
  10. Thanks also to Andy - shall have to play some more.
  11. Hi to Scudney Thanks for both suggestions - much appreciated. The only button I could see was the one I described which I pushed in and slid to the left - both with the ignition on and off - Nothing!
  12. Hi Folks, Am a new member having recently bought a 2007 SC430 with 12500 miles on clock. Lovely motor - fast and comfortable and whisper quiet - Jeremy Clarkson must have had a bad day to have given it such a poor review. Am currently achieving just over 20mpg around town and 32ish on a journey. I have Two questions which I am hoping someone out there will know the answer to. 1. How do you eject the Satnav disc to check its part number - have taken off the plastic cover in the boot and pushed the button on the left hand side and slid it to the left - but nothing happens? 2. Does anybody know which fuse controls the cigarette lighter as it is not working - non smoker so need it for standalone equipment. Haven't seen any others in the area (near Heathrow) and wondered if there is a local meet up for that area. Tony
