  1. Yeah, ill be losing the EGR all together anyway. To be honest its the ECU pin out diagram thats proving highly elusive!
  2. So i introduced myself on this forum a short while ago as i was intending on picking up an LS400 for an engine conversion (using the 1UZ). I was fortunate enough to pick one up pretty cheap so am now looking to prepare for the conversion and have a couple of questions. First and most importantly I need to get hold of a 1UZ ECU pinout diagram for a 1996 R reg LS400. This is all i used before from an engine point of view to wire a conversion. Ive done a search on google and it doesnt seem to be turning up the right stuff. When i did the soarer engine i searched JZZ30 which helped so was wondering what the chassis code for one of these is? Also i will be fortunate enough to be taking out the engine (sort of obvious) which means i will have easy access to the whole thing. So im wondering what, other than the obvious gaskets and hoses here and there, should i look out for and/or use the chance to replace/refurb. The engine will be out of the engine for a few months so time isnt a problem. Ok ill keep going while im on a roll and thinking of more things. This is something i doubt most will have ever bothered as its not really a lightweight performance car, but can i get an auxiliary belt for an engine without air con? Its a pain to transfer and yeah, weight. Another one, is it very common to do a manual conversion? Could do with a bit of advice on the wiring involved. I think that will do me for now :-) sorry if the answers are common and searchable, i just got carried away while i was writing the post. Hope you guys can help. A final note, unless im missing something, is it £40 to become a member? Or is the gold club something else. Id like to be able to sell the parts from the shell and noted that it was common that the backlights went on alot of the gauges/stereo/dials but mine are all fully working so think some people could find some use out of the parts. Phew, sorry for the essay, many thanks in advance for any help George
  3. Im trying to keep it quiet as itll be the first (AFAIK) in the UK. Its an S14 200SX (thatll make things interesting if i turn up to LOC meets! Yeah well i know what its like to be an owner in need. I had my window smashed in and was pitied by a fellow owner so Id like to help people out who need parts and the rest will be sold for cheaps. So yeah, hopefully pity will be taken if im advertising bits for a low amount and/or free. Car is so cheap i doubt id need to sell alot to make my money back. Cheers for the welcome anyway, hopefully I wont require too much of a helping hand!
  4. Hi All Im hoping I will be received well here as Im not the normal Lexus owner in that I dont own a lexus! Im buying a Lexus LS400 so that I can take the engine and transplant it into my car. Ive done a conversion before (1JZ-GTE into a Nissan) so Im hoping that people here will be able to offer advice and assistance with some of the nitty gritty such as minor wiring details and other little bits and bobs. Im also hoping my experience removing the engine and servicing will allow me to contribute back into the club (rather than being a dirty moocher!). I'd also like to open with my first question! The car Im picking up this weekend is a '97 LS400 with 130k on the clock. Its earlier than planned as it was so cheap so Im thinking of using this extra time to break the car rather than scrap it which was the original plan. Im just not sure i could scrap such a luxurious car so Id like to sell some of the bits off and in some cases give bits away for free to a needy cause (ie someones window is smashed by vandals). So what Im wondering is, is there much of a market for LS400 bits, and do they fetch a half decent amount of money? Oh, and the names George
