They won't be bright white but they will be whiter than normal ones.

You can also get osram cool blue intense which is LED like

i find the hid lights much yellower and less bright than my previous is250 sport. 

Are the rx hid light bulbs easy to change or are they like the is250s which can only be carried out by a mechanic?

what is the current colour on the factory hid bulb?

any recommended brands of aftermarket bulbs with 5000k colour?

If the led is not compatible with canbus your car will throw up faults. As far as I know the is220d doesn't use canbus, I've only put LEDs in my wing mirrors so far and they have caused no problems

I think Exdee mentioned above that the is250 does not have CAMBUS and therefore LED side lights are ok.

I fitted my LED side lights a few years ago and its passed all MOT tests including two done at a Lexus Dealership.

Are there any halogen side light bulbs which are bright and similar to LEDs?

I'll be going to a company called Hayward and Scott for my isf. They have a great reputation.

Will post up once I know a price. There are no 'out of the box' systems available in the uk. As such you will need to find a trusted custom place.

I replaced the side-light bulbs with LED ones that are a bit like:

I can't find the actual ones I bought any more, I think they've been replaced by this new model.

Expensive, but they match the headlights nicely, and they are STUPID bright compared to normal side-lights. Obviously, nowhere near as bright as headlights, and not bright enough to dazzle like high-beams, but for side-lights, they are crazy.

Can't help you with the legal bit but you should not get any errors on the dash. The car does not have CANBUS.

Since I will be changing both hid bulbs,I might as well upgrade my sidelight bulbs. Can anyone tell me the sidelight bulb fitment for is250? also which are the best LED bulbs on the market?

It's not a difficult job to do yourself, as mentioned previously there are even video tutorials on Youtube.

However if you aren't confident any decent local independant garage will be able to fit them for you for 30-40 minutes labour.

I think I will get an independent garage to fit both bulbs. Has anyone used Jem Lexus specialists in colindale?
