  1. After looking at many cars, I have narrowed the choice to 3 2007 SEL's. I have a question! My prefered car is a 1 owner 07 reg with 48000miles and the 50000 service just done. However, the car appears to pull slightly right at 70ish on the motorway, but seems normal at lower speeds. The price will be about 16500, but could the steering be a problem? Advice appreciated! :eerrrmm:
  2. When I looked at a recent 400, the dealer quoted a price of "around £ 700.00 for front and rear". They cannot be linked into the satnav, which is a nuisance, as on my BMW. Personally, I think its pricey! But good luck and hope this helps.
  3. Hi, I am looking for a car like yours. If it is still for sale please can you call me on 01403 262244. We are off back to Spain on Monday, so not a lot of time. Thanks, Ainsley
  4. I have to say, I like the Grey, and also the Slate. I have had to leave these two cars as we had to return to Spain, but since then the dealer has come up with more cars!! There is always another one, as my old Mum used to say!, many thanks, Ainsley
  5. Thanks for the info, and the search continues! Ainsley
  6. Further to test driving some cars at a dealer, The alloys on most of the cars, say 3 - 4 years old are showing some sign of corrosion. The salesman says that all the wheels will be refurbed as necessary, but is this another known fault, and are the alloys of cars under manufacturers guarantee, being replaced as required, by Lexus. A friends Toyota Celica's alloys were terrible, and she had the car from new. my RAV 4's wheels are fine and that car is 8 years old. This seems to be a fault especially with Japanese cars, but it surprises me that a car of Lexus quality should have this problem.
  7. Having been out on a couple of test drives, in the 400 SEL, I notice that the cars pull to the left under fairly normal acceleration. Also, there seems to be a slight tendency for the steering to pull a little left. Are these "normal" observations, as I have been used to BMW's for the last 15 years. I really like the car, but the driving experience is not as sharp as the BM. Still looking for my ideal car, and now having a long break in Spain, to recharge after Christmas. Really like this forum as well, many thanks, Ainsley
  8. Being new to the forum I would beg some more thoughts / advice. I have just driven a high mileage 400 SEL and loved the car. I think the mileage on the test car is too high at 97000, although it is in good condition. There are two others, one black SEL with 63000, at 21950, and a silver SEL 34000, at 22950, The black one is Nov 08, and the silver Jan 08. The only difference being the video screens. both cars have full history and warrantee from Lexus, and both are 1 owner. I would appreciate your knowledgeable thoughts as to which is considered the better buy. We are low mileage users, so the 63000 miles isn't a problem. Many thanks, Ainsley
  9. Thanks for the thoughts. Yes the car is in a Lexus dealer in Guildford Surry, and comes with a full warrantee. I am trading my BMW 330i coupe which is a lovely car, but impractical. Also taking a HUGE hit on the price we paid a year ago! We spend a lot of time in Spain, being gratefully retired, so the new car will be only used a few thousand miles a year. I have tried several private cars, but always got there a little late, and obviously they appear to be better value. I am waiting for a price on my trade in, no joy with private selling, so the BMW needs to be traded.
  10. Hi from West Sussex and Spain, I am seriously looking for a used RX400, and have located a high mileage car (93000) at a dealer, 58 reg, and in nice condition. It is an SEL, one owner with full history, the price is 18950. My question is.... Does the RX have problems with higher mileage, and is the price right! We spend a lot of time in Spain so the mileage on the UK car will equate quite quickly. However, dealer or not, I don't want to be buying problems!! Many thanks and a happy new year to all!! Ainsley
