  1. well after having a look at things here are the results, after turning the engine by hand the timing marks all line up spot on so that seems good news, the other thing we did find however was on removing the rad this was bone dry no water came from this at all and seems the rad has gone in two places so this will need to be replaced. My question is if it by these parts and put it all back together due to the heat will the engine still be ok? also does anybody know how or where you can purchase the tool to remove the bottom pulley?
  2. Hi Guys Ive never really posted too much on here before but im hoping someone can maybe help me out with an answer. Basically on saturday i was driving my is200 sport and the traction control light on the dash kept coming on and off and while in traffic car felt sluggish to move. i got it going and after driving it normally at 70mph i came to some traffic which i stopped at and at that point the car pretty much cut out and the dashboard lite up like a christmas tree and smoke coming from under the bonnet. i striaght away pushed the car to a layby and emptied it and then called recovery. i got the car home for my brother to have a quick look over as his pretty good with car and seems that the cam belt was the cause so after about 3 hours or so once the engine had cooled down enough he took the cam cover off to see the belt and found that half the belt had all streaded unp inside the casing but yet the other half still seemed ok but a little loose maybe. So my issue i have now is whats the best way about checking to see it the engine is a gonna or if im lucky and that due to half the belt still being attached that ive not damaged the engine and then can just maybe replace the cam belt etc and get it going again? Any replys or ideas would be great as the car has done 231000 miles and i only paid 900 for it like 2 years ago so not sure what the best option would be at this stage.
