HI as a new member I would like to introduce myself, my name is Keith I own a 2005 RX400h and have enjoyed driving this car for the past three years, just one niggle when I leave my car at the airport for more than 14 days the battery goes flat, I am sure this topic has been mentioned many times before.
And probably some members are getting a little tired of continually reading topics about this.
I came across a Solar-Powered 12V 1.5W Battery Trickle Charger at Maplins only £9.99 on offer until 21st March 12 and it says there is a built in blocking diode prevents reverse charging, and I wondered if anyone had used one of these.
I don’t know but providing the cigarette lighter connects to the battery with ought the ignition on then in theory this should work, The reviews are very good and having spoken to Maplins they say they have sold hundreds of these for cars that are going to be left standing for long periods. Just plug into the cigarette light put the panel on the dashboard sorted
It seems a very cheap cure to the problem.
