  1. Cheers all, Had a look today and and found no plastic cage, just an empty bulb holder!
  2. Hi all, I needed to get something out of the boot last night and noticed there was no light. To be honest, I can't remember if there ever was a light! Anyway, I just had a quick look now (to check for a blown bulb) and I couldn't see where this light is. Please could someone tell me where the light is located. Surely, on a Lexus (IS200), there must be a boot light? Thanks.
  3. LOL Cheers guys. I guess it's just a coincidence that the smell arrived after the pollen filter was changed. It seems odd that the smell disappears when you press the AC button. I think I had better get me one of those sprays.
  4. Hi all, just wondered if anyone could shed any light on why the air blowing out of the vents on my IS200 has started to carry an odd odour. It's difficult to explain the slight smell but it's a kind of damp musty odour. you can smell it in the air blowing from the vents but not when the AC is switched on. Incidentally, the car was in for a 20,000 mile service a few weeks ago and they changed the pollen filter (without asking me and charged me 50 quid for the privilege! :tsktsk: ). could this have something to do with it? Thanks
  5. Cheers Guys. Is it a simple process to fit it back or am I gonna need to take it back to the garage?
  6. Hi all, This plastic bracket was left on my rear seat (along with other stuff I'd left in the boot) after my car was returned to me following some work on the boot area. I've got no idea what it is or where it's from. It has the following etched on it: ">POM<" "64573-53010" Here's what it looks like: View1 View2 I'd be grateful if If anyone can tell me what it is and where it goes. Many Thanks.
  7. Cheers guys, I think I'll give the 'sticky' pads a go, seeing as there's quite a few others who've had no problems with them.
  8. I'm getting new reg plates made up and would rather fix them with adhesive pads than drill through the new plates to use the screw fittings. However, I've noticed that the original front number plate appears to be curve outwards from the screw fixings (as if it has been screwed in too tight). If the front bumper part where the plate attaches is actually curved then I think I'll need to use screws as the sticky pads might not be enough. Has anyone else used the adhesive pads to attach their number plates? The last thing I want is more chips on the bonnet (caused by reg plate flying off on the motorway :winky: )
  9. Cheers Guys (for the advice), I had a look today and it looks like the water's leaking in through the left side of the seal around the boot lid. I've got the car booked in at the dealers so it should be sorted fairly soon. I'm getting the stereo checked out at the same time as I get a horrible rattling, whirring type of sound from the CD player (but oddly this only occurs for disc 2 ). Thanks again.
  10. Hi all, Having bought my car from a private seller a week ago, I've discovered that water seems to be leaking into the boot. It seems to have accumulated in the well to the left of the jack. Has this type of leak been seen before? I'm assuming that it should be sorted out under the 3 year warranty (mines an 02 reg). Do I need to do anything to get the warranty transferred to my name or is the car covered irrespective of the owner? I guess I'll call the garage tommorow when they're open.
  11. Thanks for all the tips. I'm not buying the car from a dealer so I'll have to live with the alloys for the time being. I checked and there are 3 keys. Overall, the car looked in good condition and it still has the remainder of the warranty so I guess any major faults/problems that arise should be covered. So I'll be collecting it on Saturday :D
  12. Hi All, I've finally found a car with the spec I was looking for and will be going to pick it up this weekend! :D Its an 02 reg IS200 SE Navigator (Platinum Ice). It's got a few stonechips on the front bumper and bonnet and the front wheels have been slightly kerbed, but otherwise is in excellent condition. Has anyone got any tips or other advice for when I go to pick it up? i.e. how many keys there should be, what else should be present such as manuals, etc. Roll on the weekend! :winky:
  13. Hi all, Well I went to look at the car on Monday. It was in immaculate condition and exactly as described, well almost......except it had been mistakenly advertised as being a 'Navigator'. Unfortunately, I only found this out after driving 60 miles to see it! Moral of the story is always double check the details in the advert with the seller before arranging a viewing.
  14. Hi all, Thanks for all the advice. You've certainly pointed out a few things I hadn't considered. Thanks for the pointer to the blue Lex, but I'm really only looking for a silver or black IS200 I'll be taking my old man along to help look over the car and fingers crossed I should be a Lexus owner soon!
  15. Hi there, I'm going to view a 51 reg IS200 SE (Navigator) tomorrow and wondered if anyone has any tips on what to look for. I've been told the car's in excellent condition as it only has 13,000 on the clock. Any ideas on how much I should be offering? BTW, I only found this board yesterday and have been amazed by the amount of info available (and the number of happy Lex owners :D ,persuaded me to get one as well). Thanks, MK
