  1. I need the bits asap. Been trying to get hold of Terry Ormerod as per the info on gold discounts but having no luck and everywhere else is £££. Does anyone have one they want to sell, must be new in kit with bearing etc? PM me if you do and prices.

    Thanx

  2. I've had a Lex for a few months now and thought I was doing the right thing by getting a slightly newer model. It seems though, that the coherent design flaws have passed like a heriditary disease from one to the next. This poll is to guage GEARBOX ISSUES ONLY. What happens, what the problem is found to be, what the likely solution is (with cost if you know). The reason I am collating this, is because I've been advised that known design faults should be repaired by the manufacturer and depending on the safety issue, there may/may not be a cost.

The majority of manufacturers will reduce the charges when repairing 'commonalities'. I just want to gather this info so I knwo if this is a commonality, and what Lexus do when they are faced with such an issue.

    Thanx for any posts.

  3. I think you guys are missing the point here, the man has a problem with his car and it isn't his fault.

I hate BMW drivers as much as the next guy but I gotta admit, their service is second to none. My little bor drives a 1995 BMW 3 series and he recently had a postcard off them to say that there's a safety issue with some part of his steering column. They replaced the culprit parts FOC..not a single damn penny for parts or labour. They don't have to do this, they could just offer 'inspections' and blag wear and tear, then charge for the part.

I was recently told by an independant garage, that my lex has a clunky box and I should get it checked. If I find out that it's down to a design flaw, I'll ask for the part to be replaced FOC...If I get an argument, there's enough solicitors in the family to fill a showroom!! It's bang out of order that someone elses problem has to be paid for by us. I'd like to believe that Lexus can provide a service which is equal to BMW but if they can't, I'm sorry to say I'll be losing my Lex sooner than I thought. Service counts for a lot and if I'm gonna be taking my car down to the dealers for the next few years, I need to know I'm not getting shafted each time for a 'design fault'!!

    Gripe over

    Thanx

  4. We have some Jun flywheels on order if that is of any interest. We have one in stock but you'll have to fight Maz for it ;)

I think Si Skippy was asking Helix to make some, but I doubt whether they could cope with the work at the moment as they are struggling with the work they already have.

Name the time and place :D

It's ok I can wait, no immediate rush. What sort of price am I looking at for the Jun flywheel, thrust bearing and clutch set? PM me with the info or just post it here so everyones benefit. :shifty:

    Thanx

  5. Cars juddering :driving: when I change and move in the lower gears. Gear changes are getting slightly harder to do without 2nd stepping the clutch sometimes. Also getting a humming noise when the clutch is released. I'M CHANGING THE :tsktsk: LOT!!

I NEED A LIGHTWEIGHT FLYWHEEL AND THE CLUTCH AND BEARING TO GO WITH IT. THE JUN ONE SOUNDS KUSHTI BUT I'VE SEEN THREADS ON A POSSIBLE HELIX ONE. MAY BE BETTER IF THEY ARE ALL THE SAME MAKE.

SOMEONE HELP, I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO...TOO MUCH INFO AND TOO MANY OPINIONS...FACTS REQUIRED.

    Thanx guys

  6. :zee: I'm gonna assume that the prices quoted include VAT??? Also, Is the TRD the best of the ones mentioned in our previous discussion. Maybe someone has some feedback/input on the Jun flywheel or the Helix clutch?
