  1. Hi Monster Mat Thanks for the reply, No I didn't :( does this mean I might have buggered something up or can I do that now? (this is what you get when you let a girly loose on a car!! lol) Thanks Joy
  2. Hi Guys I'm after some advice please, I have a 2000 plate is 200 Sport Petrol 131000 miles, problem started with the radiator leaking tried rad weld which held for a while but then the temperature went into the red so I immediately turned off the engine and the rad was leaking, after being towed home I replaced the radiator with a new one, car sat in drive ticked over nicely normal temp on gauge, took her up the road and after a couple of miles she shot back up into the red. After stopping, changed the thermostat on side of the road and again temp gauge showed normal left her running for a fair while drove couple of miles and left running again still fine then tried to drive home and again suddenly shot up into the red once again got towed home. Checked my old thermostat and that was fine. When we pulled over after changing the thermostat and after it ticking over for a couple mins it sounded as though the rad was boiling and the fans weren't working. As the car needs a new clutch I was going to sell as a spares or repair however after only being offered £300 have decided to fix myself!! Could this be simple and be the fans?? or do you think the head gasket may have gone?? The car starts fine and engine sounds good, no milky oil on dipstick, and the water seems to be getting into the engine as when we took the thermostat water came out and when pressing the pipe can see the level raise in rad, although will check and add to post tomorrow I filled the rad when I put it on and not sure what the level is now think it may be low again but it hasn't leaked. Will be replacing the clutch and just wondering where to start with the overheating issue any suggestions and how too's most welcome :) Thanks Joy
