  1. Will upload a picture later but my car now has Red callipers brakes with gloss black alloys on a Black car with cream leather. The window tint has been increased. New Parrot system fitted to overcome phone and Line in / Aux connectivity. Original stereo "Error 4" has returned after fixing itself a short while ago.

  2. All fitted - straight six bright LED's slimline in the grill next to fog's. Looks excellent. Wheels painted gloss black to go with black car. Improved tints. Very happy.

    Question - can you paint the brakes Red or do you have to buy them like that?

  3. My car is in the garage getting a make over. I know some of you will be appalled but I need to personalize/update my car a bit;

    New hands free phone and mobile phone connection kit - the std hands free is awful. There is no"aux" connectivity.

    Alloy wheels painted gloss black - my current ones are badly degraded and I cannot really justify spending out on new alloys

    Window tints - The current tints are poor but I do not want it to look like a gangsters car so 35% tint being added

    New aerial - the FM/Am reception is appalling so I reckon a new and better aerial will help

    Parking sensors repaired/replaced - The rear ones stay on all the time if I am in reverse. Very annoying

    Daylight Running Lights - well its the law right? OK I just fancy a strip of slim LED lights added

    I looked at replacing the entire stereo but struggled to find one that had the correct wiring and would allow the cover to still come down.

  4. Over the weekend the sun shone so I thought I would get the roof down for a short journey. Solved one of my queries about why the vents under my steering wheel and to the side of the foot wells did not seem to work. They must somehow be linked into the roof as with it down, hot air came through those vents.

  5. My cup (mobile phone) holder was not opening properly. I found some guidance on how to remove it so last Saturday I gave it a go. Removal went well but I messed up on the simplest part, cleaning it so it operated more smoothly. I ended up taking out too many screws and inadvertently the spring mechanism fell apart. I tried to get it all back together again and refitted it and kept my fingers crossed. No luck, worse than it was before. Classic case of I wish I had left it alone. Anyway I found one for sale on eBay in Lithuania (do they steal our cars then sell them back to us in component form) which had the wrong coloured wood but I knew now that I could switch that with my original one.

    It arrived promptly, I fitted it easily and all works fine.

    When I get some free time I need to find out why my drivers door heated mirror does not work.

  6. I live in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire and have owned my 2005 Black/Cream leather beast for 4 months now. Only use it at weekends typically but I still look for excuses to go out in it mid week.

    I have the roof down every chance I get and just turn on the heated seats and the heating up high.

    :eerrrmm:

    Got rid of my last rattle by taking the door panel off and discovering a couple of nuts had come loose causing a tinny rattle every time I shut the drivers door.

    Little bit of wind noise from the drivers window which I am still researching how to eliminate. Rear parking sensors need sorting as they stay on when I select reverse.

    Got 30 mpg on a recent trip to Newport, Wales. Didn't buy it for economy, bought it because it is rare and luxurious. :hocus-pokus:

    Has everyone else read the manual and worked out how to get the door mirrors to dip when you select reverse?

  7. The seat memory function did not work on my car. The local independent garage figured I would need to drop it into a Lexus dealer so they could hook it up and sort out the problem.

    When I called Lexus Hatfield a really nice chap said it simply needed resting after a flat Battery probably (he asked if it beeped when moving it and I said yes), and I could do it myself.

    I would like to share my success;

    I did this with ignition on but engine not started.

    1. move seat all the way back
    2. move seat all the way forward
    3. recline seat as far back as it will go
    4. incline seat as far forward as it will go

    that sets the parameters of how far the seat will move in each direction.

    I then set my seat as I like it, pushed the set and L1 buttons for a few seconds and the memory function worked.
