I think you will find that it could be the heater stat has blown,not sure where this is located but on most cars  at rear of glove box area.If you swich to manual and the blower only works at high I would say that is your problem.Had the same problem on one of my cars(not Lexus).

Thanks for the comment. I will check out the heater stat as the blower only works on high when switched to manual. A local Lexus service advisor has suggested the problem my be a blown Resistor Block associated with the blower. Any thoughts???

To check the aircon system, turn on the ignition while pressing the AUTO button and the REC [recirculate] button simultaneously.

After the indicator light check the diagnostic code check starts automatically

00 is normal

11 is open circuit or short in the room temp.sensor circuit

12 is same for ambient temp

THERE ARE 11 CODES

Press the OFF button to cancel the test.

To clear the stored code remove the DOME fuse for 10 secs. or more[under bonnet] B)

I am having a similar problem. What are the other 8 codes? I perform the Aircon check above and seem to get codes of 14 and 15.

The AC/Heater Fan in my 1996 LS400 stays in the high position regardless of the temp setting. It will occasionally go to a lower speed but does not stay low very long. Has anyone encountered this issue.

I am replacing the hood struts in my 1996 ls400 for the third time. This seems rather frequent to me. Has anyone experienced this frequency?
