Hi Rob,
try asking on here http://www.tyresmoke.net
its were I spend me time now. I'm very pleased with my B6 2.5tdi quattro A4 avant. Much faster than the lex, will be a beast when remapped, more economical. main downside is that nearly everything is an optional extra but thankfully most things are retrofitable
-
I had mine done recently, they stripped it right back, put 2pack primer and painted and laquered it. £80 it cost me. all I did was drop it off and collect it
-
will do. been on tyresmoke forum for hours looking at all the mods and retrofits to be done. I'm gonna have some fun next week
-
Just paid for my new car today. picking it up next week. Just saying thanks for all the help I've had off everyone during my time here and its been good to meet some of you. It's really depressing taking all the stuff of my car but never mind, I can put a lot of new stuff on my new car to make up for it.
Cheers everybody
Here's a quick picture of the new'un. A4 avant 2.5 TDi 180 Quattro.

I will try and come down for this cos not been to a meet for ages, although it will have to be in my new car (not lexus I'm afraid)
-
cheers but got the 20" toshiba for just over £400. its a bit excessive really for the bedroom but what the hell... you only live once
-
I have one you can have for free, just pay postage, this is asuming my memory is correct and its the off side one thats slightly damaged and not the drivers one. this is off an early IS200 and is sliver chrome (not the later darker chrome)
PM me if you want it

had to extend the budget to just over £400 tho. just missed out at richer sounds. they had the 27" version, HD ready, freeview for £399. all gone last week tho although to be honest its a bit too big for the bedroom but we would have been fools to pay more for a smaller, lower spec tv
I'll try that with curry's, thanks for the tip

Have finally decided to get this one:

has any one got one or a similar one?
-
I went through that really long one in switzerland a few months ago...
but in a hire car :( not my lex.
I prefer multi story car parks better cos they echo more and you get the wheel screech going round the corners

I had a good experience at kwik fit chester last sat afternoon when everyone else was shut. Helped me free a seized sliding pin out of the carrage arm
-
I find this sort of stuff always screws up your pc. norton is very hard to remove, verging on impossible. definately go for a reformat if you can, it makes yoru pc run loads quicker.
Norton is rubbish

turned out to be the sliding bolt that was seizing. cleaned out, greased up and new one ordered will be ordered today as it had slight pitting in it. Got some Castrol LM high melting point grease to put in, this stuff will be ok won't it?
-
I love the B&M shortshifter. Its stiff allright but after a bit of coaching even the wife can get it in reverse now.
-
good advice
-
It could also be one of the sliding bolts that have seized. This happened to me. check that they slide in and out easily
-
I think the new GS looks a lot better than the new IS so you've made a good choice IMHO
-
well I've worked the pistons in and out on both sides for a while and it seems to have fixed the problem. Set of new brake pads and all is sweet again.
Thanks for your input guys
-
On the off side caliper only one of the pistons is coming out when the brake is applied. The otherone moves a bit when pushed but only the one comes out under braking. Will the repair kit solve this or do I need a new caliper?
Thanks
Jim

well, can't get cable (wouldn't pay for it anyway as don't watch much telly) and don't want another box kicking about but the wife want freeview channels (were still only on 5 channels in Jim towers). Its still rediculous that they still sell telly's with anologue input only
-
what sort of price would you recomend going to, remembering its only for the bedroom
-
I know most people on here are fairly clued about about these sort of things so any advice would be most gratefully recieved. I'm looking for a flatscreen TV, about 20" for the bedroom. Budget of about £200 - £300 and it would be nice to have a digital tuner. ANswers on a postcard please:
Thanks
Jim

as mat said but get it filled up with ATF (red) instead of manual gearbox oil
