  1. My car went into Lexus today and they identified that the problem was the deceleration sensor. Apparently when I had the Battery changed the steering had not been cantered which can upset the sensor. Anyway they re set it and the car is now fine. It was collected and delivered back fixed - and valeted at no cost! I was very impressed. Sometimes there is some goodwill if you have your car serviced regularly at a garage. This was Lexus Cheltenham.

  2. I had the car lpg serviced and they changed the spark plugs. They measured the output mixture adjusment coming from the engine ecu and it showed that one side was slow to respond to changing the mixture as the engine speed was varied. He thought this was probably a sensor problem. He could not explain why the VSC had started coming on and said it must be a coincidence.

There are postings elsewhere on the net that say that the VSC error code can also mean that oxygen sensors are not working. I assume that a proper coded analysis of the error will explain this.

I take your point about putting back as it was. My car is serviced regularly by Lexus but they will not touch the gas parts but will service everything else. The gas can be fully turned off to check it.

The car was not jacked up to service it.

  3. The VSC off and check VSC warning has come on when the car is started following a gas service. Interestingly they said that the left bank oxygen sensor was not working as it should - it was sluggish and they suggested that I got it checked. Having looked around on the web it appears that the VSC code can be indicative of the sensor not working. Does this mean that the VSC is in fact working and it is in fact the oxygen sensor that needs replacing? In any event I will take it in to Lexus but wondered if any others have had experience of this?

    Thanks

  4. I went to try and buy a replacement drivers side wiper from Halfords only to discover that the Lexus has a special fitting and although Halfords think they stock the correct one on their computers in fact they don't. They suggested that I went to the main dealer. Has anyone found an alternative source other than the main dealer that offers the correct fitting?

    Thanks

  5. I must confess mine had the same problems as described. I lubricated via oil with a straw attached to be sure that the oil got the right place which is key. The first time I did it I did not use the straw attachment and it did not work because I did not get the oil to the right place. For the sake of buying an oil can with a straw fitted for a few pound it is worth a try. Mine also now works perfectly and silently!

  6. My Ls430 seems to be loosing coolant. I have recently had it gas converted ( about 4000 miles ago) and also had the cam belt changed just after the conversion. While the cam belt was changed I had the water pump replaced at the same time at a main dealer. What is the best way to solve? I am thinking of just taking into the main dealer, but I am a little concerned of opening my self up to mega costs! Has anyone any suggestions? Any help much appreciated. The car has done 45000 miles with a full main dealer history and is 10 years old.

  7. I am impressed that you got a tank this size in the spare wheel recess. Presumably the boot floor must now sit slightly raised to accommodate it?

I also ha dine done at profess and habpve found it very good. Did they persuade you to go for a more powerful condenser? In my case they did nit totally sure it was needed bug went fri t anyway. The performance of the system is excellent s far. Will be interested to see what level of economy you get.

    Regards
