  1. Ah thanks jomo but it's ok now, I've just shelled out for the one from Grom :(
  2. Thanks for your help! Pictures very useful too :) Think I'll put it by the passenger door, having it in the middle would be ideal but looks a bit too fiddly for me.
  3. I was thinking that but wasn't sure how to get that post cover off, any pointers?
  4. Thanks. I ended up going for the XCarLink with Bluetooth in the end and it works perfectly! The only problems I have now is that XCarLink now takes up the socket at the back which the Sat Nav used to use so the Sat Nav is no longer working but that's not such a big problem and can be easily fixed with a y-connector. The second problem is finding a suitable place for the bluetooth microphone! All in all I'm very happy with this solution.
  5. Hi, I'm after this cable having just fitted the XCarLink which didn't come with one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0920GD1832 I'm aware that the Grom unit comes with it (http://www.gromaudio.com/store/grom_accessories/toy1_oem_harness_for_select_toyota_lexus_98-04.html) however I think $15 is a bit much and am wondering if anybody has one lying around spare that they'd like to sell? Or if they know where I can get one at a more reasonable price? Without it my Sat Nav doesn't turn on :( Any help is appreciated! L
  6. I'm another one in this situation, any help would be greatly appreciated!
  7. The only issue I've had with my sat nav screen is that sometimes it gets really dark as though some of the colours aren't loading properly... bang it or wait a few minutes and it comes back to full colour...odd!
  8. Yes, I do have an amp behind the glove box, so do you know which wiring harness do I need? Is it PC2-93-4? or PC2-105-4? or something else... Cheers Stupid question... how do I check if the amp is behind the glove box?
  9. That does sound quite involved!! Would you be able to point me in the direction of a guide on this? :outforcount:
  10. Ah just the info I need! Can you give me more detail on this 'box of tricks'?
  11. Hi, am also now interested in replacing the stock HU. I have the older bottom loader CD player with the Err3 message and am worried that the Grom won't work with this error as I can't get the CD's out - screws have been stripped... I also have the built in sat nav. Will I be able to use an aftermarket HU?
  12. Update: Having done some reading up on this, apparently the Grom system won't work with the older bottom loader CD head unit that has disks stuck inside with the infamous Err3... Can anybody confirm if they've managed to get it working with this setup?
  13. Am also interested in doing the same and would appreciate any input ! :) Although I have a 1999 IS200 Sport Navigator and was wondering if the OEM Sat Nav will be able to plug into (most or some?) new stereos for the voice directions? For example, the Alpine mentioned above? Also would this be a good fit? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-IS-200-300-Series-Single-Double-Din-Stereo-Fascia-Panel-Facia-Adaptor-/350637142214?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51a39a30c6&_uhb=1
