  1. Mrs got a good deal there mate, At least you stayed jap with the soarer.

Lol ye she got a serious upgrade from a 1.2 clio !!

Its win win for me tho, before, i had a 200sx and she had the clio, we kept ending up in the clio as hard work re our 16 month old in the back, much to my dismay, so sx was only doing my drive to work. I sold the sx, got the is300 and thought, nice car, 2jz, can't go wrong! But then, she wanted a 4dr as well, kept banging on about a focus, then i seized the opportunity to get another coupe/turbo, forced the is300 on her (but now she loves it) and went and bought a tt soarer, when i was actually on the way to buy an s14! Always get japs btw, gt4, supra, s13, mr2, etc

  2. If you are thinking of selling the sat -nav, have you thought of becoming a gold member on here?

Once you have paid your listing fee and final credit fee, paypal ect. You will have spent enough for a years membership. Which entitles you to free selling on the forum and dealers discounts ect.

Most of all you get the satisfaction of supporting the club :)

Its a good idea, but, the current state of affairs is, i gave my Mrs the is300, sold her pos clio, and bought myself another lexus...............soarer twin turbo  and there doesn't seem to be much doing on the soarer bits on here, so i am now a member of soarer world as well as still being an sxoc member!
  3. Cheers people, i defo won't be messing with the loom then, didn't think it'd be part of the main loom!!

I'll sell the screen part and the controls tho if someone's interested, and i'd then need their dash replacement bits!

I don't use satnav so if i can get good money for it, iro 200, then I'll happily take it out!

Just a polite post, do not turn this into a for-sale thread or it will be removed.

  4. Well a k and n typhoon or the likes would be nice, but at 200 ish, i then think could i fit this to the original intake even if it takes a bit of cutting

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apexi-Universal-Power-Intake-Air-Filter-75mm-Dual-Funnel-Adapter-/300792859588

    Is this viable?

Also that srt computer thing, looks on the net to be a bit like an apexi safc , anyone fitted one of these? I've never really looked into tuning the few na cars I've had, but if i could get this car to 240 ish bhp that'd be nice!

Also, are all our 300's lsd ?

  5. SRT offers an induction kit with race ECU upgrade but dont have one at the mo..decided to stick with high flow panel filters instead as i prefered the queitness but the Apexi i have changes the engine note once i hit 3000rpm.

SRT cliams a 20 - 22hp gain with the ecu upgrade aswell

    http://swiftracing.c.../item.aspx?id=2

other guys in US are using the Joe Z tube which has been claimed to officially give 7 bhp more to the rear wheels.

    http://l-tunedparts....roduct/?id=2853

was tempted to get this tube to accompany my Apexi filter but thought will i really notice 7bhp gain on the road?? so SRT is worth looking if you decide on induction kit.

Btw when u say apexi you have changes the engine note, do u mean cone filter but now u have gone back to panel? Have u got photos of your cone setup ? Was it as easy as remove air box then attach cone with samco connection piece? cheers

  6. hmm, that srt kit sounds good, but 10% extra power from an NA with just that modification? Is it realistic?

    Has anyone used that kit?

Also, when i had the NA supra, 2jzge, they are quoted as 220-225 bhp, this will of course be becasue of the higher ron fuel in Japan. Do our ecu's detect this if we were to use 99 ron fuel and thus advance the ignition timing?

  7. Right, cambelt imminent then.

Key, when i press the buttons the light won't come on, is it beggered?

    Other questions,

    1. are the rear lights the same as is200 as my drivers side has a crack.

    2. Are the exhaust rear pipes/silencers same as is200? As I've seen a blitz nur spec back box listed for the 200 in some places but 200 and 300 in others?

    3. What would be a nice intake system tl go on it?

    Cheers

  8. Cheers people.

Need advice on cambelt tho, cars done 71k, 8 yrs old, is it correct that the service book says 100k ?

Also, i have been given 2 keys but only one works for the rcl/immobiliser etc. Is it main dealer only at £200+ ? If so i won't be getting a spare :D

  9. Hi all,

Just bought an is300 saloon last thurs, never had an auto before, but have had a 2jz before in the NA supra i used to own,i'm loving that straight 6 tone again :)

    Previous cars include,

    200sx s13 just sold,

    2 x celica gt4's

    an NA supra mk4,

    mr2,

So have now come back to the Toyota family in the shape of an is300 saloon.

Anything to be wary of etc?

Need some advice using this club site as well as it appears harder to use than the normal vbb of sxoc, gt4oc, mkivsupra etc.....

    Cheers

  10. Interesting reading here.

I've just bought an is300, not really driven many miles yet, i've done about 90 since picking it up last thursday, need to get to grips with the auto box and manual mode as have never owned or driven an auto before. Bit too early for me to judge yet but i think i'll change the GB oil as well as have noticed a bit of hesitation as described in the original post.

How do i reset the ecu to 'learn' my driving style?
