  1. Hi All! Been a long time since I've been here! Since my last visit I've had two Lexus models come and go and now am into my second year of IS300h Advance ownership. Love almost everything about this car, except the 17" wheels! To me it makes the car look underwheeled. SWMBO likes them, but I just haven't warmed to the size! My other car has 18s and looks so much better and I'm not concerned about harder ride etc as my "toy" is rock hard and I'm OK with that. So I was wondering, is there anyone on here with 18s who would be interested in swap/part ex an as new set of 2018 Advance spec 10,000 mile 17s for equivalent condition 18s? Weird question, but I have seen some guys wanting to downsize for comfort so, thought why not ask!
  2. Sadly the car was disapointing. :( The ride is just not for me, Way too wafty and remote feeling. Also my wife wasn't happy with it. Beautifully made though and a fine car for someone looking for a cruiser. (amazingly quite roof up or down too!) But not the car for me, so it's back to the drawing board.... Thanks everyone who welcomed me!! I may be back! But next time maybe an IS-F.. :)
  3. Hope so! never had a V8 before, so this could be fun.. :D
  4. Thanks! Hopefully it'll drive as nice as it looks! Which brings me to one question - do these cars have a floaty ride? I've read some reviews that say they're very soft, but the facelift ones are better. My wife is very prone to car sickness if the ride is too soft and boat like..... :( (we tried a Chrysler 300C some time ago and it was so soft it pitched and rolled like a boat. She was sick..!!! )
  5. Didn't get to drive the car saturday, postponed 'till tomorrow morning. But here's one of a few photos the dealer sent me to get me salivating.. :D (still fancy black on black but this is a very nice car....)
  6. Thanks. Looking forward to the test on saturday! To be honest, I was looking for a black on black, but this silver and ivory one has come up at my local Lexus dealer with great history, low mileage etc. so we'll see.... :) Will be hard to say good bye to the CLS, but the SC430 is an itch I really want to scratch! :D
  7. Just to follow on from Luxlink query - if I ordered one from Luxury Motor Works in the US, is the fitting of it something a Lexus dealer or specialist could do? (I'm hopeless and would end up frying the electrics! LOL)
  8. Thanks for the welcome! :) I Was reading about the use of spacers on the US Lexus Club but I've not read anything about it in UK. Personally I think the inset wheel position doesn't look that great... :D Also, anyone use Luxlink here? I like the idea of winding down the rear quarter windows and remotely opening the roof... :)
  9. Hi! Soon to be an SC430 (2007) owner (subject to test driving at the weekend) and very excited about it! I'll be a first time Lexus owner too, coming out of a Mercedes CLS and various other Mercs before it. Also have a new Auris Hybrid daily driver which may be part ex'd for a CT200h later next year. I do have one small question (which I hope hasn't already been covered in detail somewhere here!) I notice the wheels on the SC430 seem to be very inset leading it to look under wheeled. Has anyone tried spacers to improve the offset and if so, does it work and which kind are the best to go for? I would like to keep the OEM wheels as the facelift ones look OK to me. I hope I can become a regular here and enjoy the community as I have doen over at MBClub during my MB days! :) Barry
