  1. ok, tried the car this morning after putting fuses back in, still the same. car will rev but wont idle, then after a while, will idle but wont rev Codes read are P1125 and P1128. both to do with the throttle motor? now where about is the Motor? when looking down on the throttle housing, is it the motor top right, to left, or bottom left? thanks
  2. i didnt remove any of the plugs to any of the sensors. only one i unplugged was the air sensor to the airbox. i did think that possibly when i unbolted the throttle housing, and moved it up, maybe one of the connections on the plugs may have broken down, so i unplugged them all, and replugged them, but still the same. i have just removed the ecu fuses before i left work, so will try it again tomorrow morning
  3. i cant remember the esact code, but first off it was saying the throttle motor malfuction. but now there are no codes on the system? i watched the actual live data, and when the engine wont idle, but revs ok, the throttle motor says 'active', but then when it has been running for about 5 minutes, and starts to idle ok, then engine wont rev, and now it says the motor is 'deactivated' i tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, which didnt work. maybe i will try removing the fuses i did try and see if there was a 'learn' function on my diag machine, because i did this recently on a skoda, and you could re-teach the throttle positions, but the function isnt available. will try the fuses and post again tomorrow, thanks
  4. i recently had the engine management light come on the dash, along with the traction control light flashing at me. i work in a garage so plugged it into our diagnostics machine, which said it had an idle control problem. after speaking to our master technician he said the best thing to try is to clean out the throttle housing/butterfly. i took off the throttle housing, and cleaned the butterfly ect, and bolted it all back together, but now the car wont idle atall? you can manually make it idle by turning the butterfly, and once the vehicle gets warm, it idles ok....but once it idles ok, it wont rev, if u put your foot on the throttle, it does nothing until the last 10% and then it will rev? i spoke to various mechanics, and they are all stumped by this, mainly because of the complexety of the throttle setup on these vehicles instead of the throttle cable being linked directly to the butterfly, it is linked to a rod, which in turn turns a motor, which seems to send a signal to the ECU, which then sends a signal back to the opposite side of the throttle housing, which then turns a gear which opens the butterfly? seems alittle complex! i know this is abit of an essay, im just kind of stumped at the moment, and the car has been sat at work for a few days now, and there isnt much skin left on my head from all the head scratching any ideas? many thanks
