I bought ths car 7 days ago. It's less than 3 years old but done 61k miles.
On Thursday, 4 days after buying it, noticed oil leak on the driveway. Also couldn't find this irrating noise from the front. The noise sounds like a rumbeling rattle likes something loose. it only does it when the car is in neutral at low speed, doesn't make the noise in gear. ie 5-10 mph.
The oil leak is from the gear box extension housing and the shaft that joins the prop shaft could possibly be making this noise.
My question is has this happened to anyone else? Or got any ideas what the noise could be. The lexus garage told me the gear boxes are indestructible but the clutches do go.
My main worry is the dealer (not a lexus one) who i purchased the car from will make a dodgy repair and will fail again in another couple of months when it's outside of its warranty.
Any comments welcome. Should I get a refund and run away?
