  1. My is250's idle RPM seems quite high to me, around 1300-1400 upon starting and in park but when I put it into drive or reverse it drops to around 700-800 RPM. Is this normal? What RPM are you getting?
  2. When starting my 250 it ticks over at around 1200-1300rpm and when put into any other gear apart from park it bongs and tells me to "shift to p range" but the rpm drops to 800-900 ish Is this normal?
  3. I have recently purchased my first lexus, I first saw it on the lexus website, it had everything I wanted in a car and more so I used the negotiate option on the website which was accepted and then began correspondence with a gentleman from a lexus garage which for the moment shall remain nameless. Everything was going fine until I asked about the option to back out once I had put my deposit down for any change in circumstance (I didn't know of one but just to cover my back just in case) this started a bit of a farce of saying yes without actually saying yes in 40 sentences. I only had a small amount to finance as my deposit and part ex covered a lot of the expense of the car but this turned into a nightmare with the finance company asking for everything but my inside leg measurement, I know this isn't lexus' fault in any way but there are ways and means of going about your job politely and efficiently to which I didn't find that this particular gentleman had done. My patience was running thin by this point and was told by the gentleman in question "I think the easiest thing to do is give you your money back as you are going to pull out of this deal anyway" this really annoyed me and he got put back in his place with my next few sentences. I decided that I didn't want to deal with this gentleman anymore so I took a trip to Lexus Teesside, I couldn't of found a bigger difference in staff, they were everything I had heard about the lengedery Lexus customer service but unfortunately as they are owned by different companies the option to deal through Teesside wasn't a viable one, so back to the other garage it was. I asked to speak to the sales manager to deal through him as I didn't want to deal with same gentleman. To cut a long story (sort of) short I was told I could expect my lexus on Monday, then Tuesday at the latest by the salesman and then the sales manager informed me now it's provisionally Thursday at 11am because it hasn't been to the shop yet and to top it off I have to drive 2 hours to collect as apposed to being told that delivery is a free option which can be handled at very short notice, which I've now been told is a 48 hour wait. So has anybody else had problems with a lexus garage or salesman?
  4. Hi Steve and cheers, was originally hoping for the is220 but joined this forum and saw a lot of issues with the engine and its reliability so thought I'd steer clear. A quick question for anyone who may know, what's in the multimedia pack as mine has this installed?
  5. Just a quick topic to say hello and introduce myself. I have been a big fan of Lexus for a while and always wanted to own one and I'm finally in a position to get one so will be taking delivery of my is250 SE-L on Monday! I look forward to speaking with many of you and hopefully using your knowledge if I ever encounter any issues, many thanks!
