  1. I think you're right - ill leave it alone. Noise is there whether the sunroof or blind are open or closed. It's quite a heavy rattle so I wonder if its something on the sunroof mechanism that's come loose.
  2. I believe the rattle is actually coming from the roof to either the right, or just behind the sunroof, and not from the front of the car after all. Does anyone know how eay it is to remove the roof lining, or is that a job best left to a dealer?
  3. Hi guys I've searched the forums and found numerous posts about rattling dashboards, but nothing that quite sounds like what I'm experiencing. I picked up my GS450h today from Droitwich and drove it back to Bournemouth and enjoyed every second. I averaged 36.5mg which is fine by me as I'm sure I will get more once I've got used to the hydrid system. As most of the driving was on smooth motorways , it was only when I got home to our local rubbish roads that I noticed a rattle from the car. At first it sounded like something rattling in the drivers side A pillar, but now seems to be from ether the front wing or possibly inside the door. It's quite a heavy rattle and seems to happen when initially driving off or driving over uneven road surfaces. The trader I bought the car seemed genuine and put a new mot on the car and replaced an off-side shock with a new one from Lexus due to an advisory, so I'd assume if it was something with the suspension then it would have been spotted. The rattle wasn't there when I test drive the car last week so I'm a bit puzzled as to what could be causing it. Has anyone else come across anything similar with a Gs? Cheers Simon G
  4. Hi Guys Picked up my GS 450h today :) I've just been going through all of the paper work and noticed that the previous owner took out a Lexus service plan which said he was entitled to an 80,000, 90,000 and 100,000 services. However, the previous owner didn't have the 100k service done before he sold the car to the trader I just bought it from. Any idea whether Lexus would honor this last service even though the car's changed owners?
  5. Hi All I'm new to the forum today and I'm just in the process or purchasing my first Lexus, a 2006 GS450h SE-L :hocus-pokus: These cars seem to be quite rare and the last four I had my eye on were snapped up before I got a change to view them. I live in Bournemouth and went to slough to look at a silver one that had a very attractive price, but unfortunately on arrival it became apparent that there was a hybrid fault displayed on the dash and the power diagram on the touch screen was showing no flow. The owner, a nice 73 year old man, had only driven 3000 miles over the past 18 months and had not noticed (Hmmm?) the error. Needless to say that although the car was excellent in all other ways I didn't buy it ........ incidentally, I've since been told that "Check Hybrid" error can be caused by someone installing a non-Lexus 12v battery - Does this sound feasible? Anyway, after a wasted trip to Slough I drove up to Birmingham and bought a Nordic Blue one with beige leather interior and 93k on the clock - The car is really spotless inside and out and the only issue is a small tear about 1cm in the driver seat that I can only assume was caused by someone wearing braces, so I may see how much that costs to fix as I know someone in the trade. The car seems to have had the inverter replaced in 2009 as there's a Lexus sticker on the cover saying that it's been modified so hopefully this is a good sign as I've read that some early GS450h's suffered from this and that Lexus changed something on later cars. Hoping to pick the car up on Monday and can't wait :hohoho: Has anyone had experience of the Lexus extended warranty and their Essential Care Service Plans? Re the Service Plan, my local dealer doesn't appear to offer this and the next nearest does, but says that the £299 major service price it doesn't include all the parts needed for a major service which seems a bit odd to me, and they've quoted me a price of £478 instead !? Cheers guys Simon G PS - is there any way top hook up a digital TV receiver in this car? Great to be able to play DVD's but a TV would be more useful.
