  1. So this has now progressed to court dates and I am looking forward to my day in court. It is clear that they are worried as they are claiming to have sent me 'full refund' letters that I have not received and they have not sent to me once requested.

Fingers crossed I get an understanding judge that realises the stress this has caused me.

  2. UPDATE

The offending garage have denied any claims against them and are now informing the courts that I bought the car from an individual privately - I am guessing they forgot they gave me a receipt!!! Idiots - and why are the courts allowing this change when the information of who I am taking to court should surely be my choice?? especially if it is the company I am chasing and not the Directors.

  3. thought I would also consider the Denso route as cheap and worth a go incase my court case fails. A mechanic friend has said that it can make it run rich on startup although it is unlikely. He also said with the electronic controls on these cars it can be a lot of trial and error as components fail and make other areas throw up codes - Oh how I love technology.

Has anyone used the Denso tyre pressure sensors?

  4. Just thought I would try to pull together any places people have managed to get original parts from cheaper than using the UK dealers.

I am currently looking around and notice a massive price difference between the UK and US and wondered if people have used these parts? are they all the same part numbers? are there cheaper European parts suppliers?

Just thought it would be interesting to see who has saved doing this and if it is worth the wait for the parts.

  5. I am finding your tone aggressive and intimidating - MODERATORS please dal with this member - It was clear from my original post that I was just asking if this was a good place to sell a car and, as it is a forum, a comment was made on how disappointed I was that I had bought a car with issues and it mad it hard to decide what I was doing with my perfect LS. It is members like mike that will stop people from joining this site.

Currently I haven't had any serious enquiries on my car ad so I guess I was right to ask the question.

  6. So, today I called CAB consumer line and they have reported the trader to trading standards for 'illegal terms and conditions on invoice' or something like that - further to this I have been guided through my letters to request repairs or reject and the notice of 14 days to correct or the courts will get involved.

I cant see why a company would do this to themselves. For the sake of taking the car away and fixing it, for which they surely must be insured, and not risking the terrible publicity that will follow - and this is a garage whose average forecourt price is north of £50k !!

  7. I think it is sometimes easier to pay a little extra to be able to shout nice and loudly when something goes wrong with the repair - I have always had a dealer straight away say 'no problem we will sort that' and a poor indy say 'its a new fault, happens when you replace parts' As for a good Indy, I had one but he went out of business when he retired and the new owners are useless. So if anyone knows any good indys in the Wokingham/reading area.....................

  8. SOOOO, Not sure whats going on with the two cars now but I think I might just join at the end of the month anyway as I am stuck indoors with nothing better to do whilst my back is repairing from this surgery plus I understand that there is a 15% discount at Lexus Readng for members according to the service manager and having spent £400 there in the last 2 months that's my membership paid for lol.

Still not sure about what I am selling though as I don't understand the court process for repair or return in cars and the garage I bought the GS from is doing the 'nothing to do with us' approach to business. So it needs various sensors and height arms or something so any advice on repairs rejection and courts for used cars bought less than a month ago and not used coz the fault came in the first 24hrs and was reported. (been a while as had surgery and been waiting for the garage to sort out repairs)

    Cheers

  9. So confused by this. The dealer is ignoring me saying they are on 'holiday' until after the repair or reject letter I have sent them so I guess that the courts are going to be seeing some of my money on this. Anyone know if I get it repaired and claim it back or go to court to get funding for the repairs? I love the car other than this issue (albeit an expensive one) It also needs the AFS height sensor thingy at the back replacing and I had the tpms done on the way home from collecting the car as it lit up like Christmas come early.

So, as its the weekend, any ideas/experience in which way round its done would be good to settle my mind - the garage I bought the car from has had many many chances to repair the car or collet it but just respond 'not my problem' grrrrrrrr

    Cheers guys.
