  1. Stupid me, Will send back to Rockauto who are awesome BTW
  2. So this has now progressed to court dates and I am looking forward to my day in court. It is clear that they are worried as they are claiming to have sent me 'full refund' letters that I have not received and they have not sent to me once requested. Fingers crossed I get an understanding judge that realises the stress this has caused me. Matt
  3. Hi Guys, Soooo I have ordered some sensors from rockauto but have just read that they are likely to be the wrong one as we use 433mhz and USA is 315mhz. Can anyone confirm this and if they are usable in mixed frequency (2 of each) Thanks Matt
  4. UPDATE The offending garage have denied any claims against them and are now informing the courts that I bought the car from an individual privately - I am guessing they forgot they gave me a receipt!!! Idiots - and why are the courts allowing this change when the information of who I am taking to court should surely be my choice?? especially if it is the company I am chasing and not the Directors.
  5. Lexus have told me that they have no way of adjusting this. I was thinking that it might be soundproofing in the way as the sound is still clear so not a failed beeper but is very quiet (cant be heard over the fan on 25%)
  6. Anyone know any good places to go to get the first signs of peeling and fading through poor lacquer sorted? In or around berks would be good. M
  7. Thanks for the input, But as I have said in the original post ALL of the settings have been set to maximum. Anything else it could be? I was wondering if there was any soundproofing that may be blocking the beeper - Does anyone know where the beeper is located as I would like to see if anything is blocking it. M
  8. Sorry forgot to change my vehicle listing. Its a 2005 (newer shape) Gs300
  9. I thought this might have had a few replies with rockauto offering them for £20 and a mini VCI for £20 you could theoretically replace all four for the price of 1 at lexus lol. Are DENSO the OEM? do they work with the originals if not or do you need to replace all of them for them to be programmable to the car?
  10. Can anyone help as this is just silly. The beeps are so quiet!!!! Everything has been turned up and Lexus have turned up what they can but just a mouse like beep that's drowned out by the fan let alone any music - Any Ideas? M
  11. Has anyone ever tried these sensors as they are around for about £40 delivered so about half the price of Lexus - obviously they would have to be programmed to the car by lexus unless there is someone local to Berkshire on the LOC that has one of the programming thingymabobs (technical right??) that I could convince to help. M
  12. thought I would also consider the Denso route as cheap and worth a go incase my court case fails. A mechanic friend has said that it can make it run rich on startup although it is unlikely. He also said with the electronic controls on these cars it can be a lot of trial and error as components fail and make other areas throw up codes - Oh how I love technology. Has anyone used the Denso tyre pressure sensors?
  13. Just thought I would try to pull together any places people have managed to get original parts from cheaper than using the UK dealers. I am currently looking around and notice a massive price difference between the UK and US and wondered if people have used these parts? are they all the same part numbers? are there cheaper European parts suppliers? Just thought it would be interesting to see who has saved doing this and if it is worth the wait for the parts. M
  14. It might be a smaller audience but often it is a more focused audience. How many people visit 'gumtree' to look for lexus cars or parts - and how many would look for a lexus website?
  15. I am finding your tone aggressive and intimidating - MODERATORS please dal with this member - It was clear from my original post that I was just asking if this was a good place to sell a car and, as it is a forum, a comment was made on how disappointed I was that I had bought a car with issues and it mad it hard to decide what I was doing with my perfect LS. It is members like mike that will stop people from joining this site. Currently I haven't had any serious enquiries on my car ad so I guess I was right to ask the question.
  16. VERY GOOD - I AM gold member - please read things and check before posting to avoid bad feeling
  17. Just a waiting game now before I can trigger in the small claims court process. In the meantime I am trying to sell my LS as I cant afford to insure both and because of the lovely new laws regards insurance and I cant park it off road...........
  18. Theres gonna be a couple on the market at the same time - nice that there gonna be set at different budgets
  19. Reported to trading standards and they are interested as apparently the terms and conditions on the invoice are illegal and in breach of the SOGA. I have been advised and guided through a repair or reject letter giving 14 days before court action. I do love lexus but are they worth all this lol
  20. So, today I called CAB consumer line and they have reported the trader to trading standards for 'illegal terms and conditions on invoice' or something like that - further to this I have been guided through my letters to request repairs or reject and the notice of 14 days to correct or the courts will get involved. I cant see why a company would do this to themselves. For the sake of taking the car away and fixing it, for which they surely must be insured, and not risking the terrible publicity that will follow - and this is a garage whose average forecourt price is north of £50k !!
  21. I think it is sometimes easier to pay a little extra to be able to shout nice and loudly when something goes wrong with the repair - I have always had a dealer straight away say 'no problem we will sort that' and a poor indy say 'its a new fault, happens when you replace parts' As for a good Indy, I had one but he went out of business when he retired and the new owners are useless. So if anyone knows any good indys in the Wokingham/reading area.....................
  22. SOOOO, Not sure whats going on with the two cars now but I think I might just join at the end of the month anyway as I am stuck indoors with nothing better to do whilst my back is repairing from this surgery plus I understand that there is a 15% discount at Lexus Readng for members according to the service manager and having spent £400 there in the last 2 months that's my membership paid for lol. Still not sure about what I am selling though as I don't understand the court process for repair or return in cars and the garage I bought the GS from is doing the 'nothing to do with us' approach to business. So it needs various sensors and height arms or something so any advice on repairs rejection and courts for used cars bought less than a month ago and not used coz the fault came in the first 24hrs and was reported. (been a while as had surgery and been waiting for the garage to sort out repairs) Cheers
  23. So confused by this. The dealer is ignoring me saying they are on 'holiday' until after the repair or reject letter I have sent them so I guess that the courts are going to be seeing some of my money on this. Anyone know if I get it repaired and claim it back or go to court to get funding for the repairs? I love the car other than this issue (albeit an expensive one) It also needs the AFS height sensor thingy at the back replacing and I had the tpms done on the way home from collecting the car as it lit up like Christmas come early. So, as its the weekend, any ideas/experience in which way round its done would be good to settle my mind - the garage I bought the car from has had many many chances to repair the car or collet it but just respond 'not my problem' grrrrrrrr Cheers guys.
