  1. Hi, My gearbox recently developed a small problem, on fast acceleration and high revs change from first to second gear results in very bad noise, like crunching noise. I don't really want to repair that, but I would like to swap manual gearbox for automatic one. It suit me better. Is there a lot of work to achieve that?

    thanks

  2. Hello and welcome to the LOC.

Sunroof drains are normally located in the corners of the sunroof frame once the roof is opened.

Grap yourself some thick nylon strimmer cord and use this as a drain rod by pushing it down the holes.

The rear drains normally exit both sides of the boot behind the side panels, through the boot floor and outside so if you can locate them try the strimmer cord from this end.

    Sometimes compressed air is effective.

Thanks for the advice. Its all done with helping hand from

  3. Where did you get the SMDs from for the dash?

    And welcome.

    Hi Chris

    From Here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281074267363?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 - those are 3 big ones so You will need to buy 2 packages

    and from here:

http://www.crazyleds.co.uk/Blue-286-T5-3xPLCC-2-wedge-base-push-fit-led.html - 2 small ones, please note, that those ones are a bit loose in the holders and can fell off because of the vibration, so I have used a little bit of epoxy glue to hold them down and it works :)

  4. I need a advice. Please could anyone recommend a garage or mechanic or someone who do know how to check suspension and will find a problem in Nottingham Newark or Lincoln. Going abroad in 3 weeks and annoyingly there is clunking/metalic noise from front left side, when going over speed bumps and things like that. Few mechanics already seen that and they say that everything is ok.

    regards

  5. Hi!

My car developed a problem. Sometimes on the first gear, when I try to start moving relisting he clutch very slowly it vibrates like hell... Sometimes its all ok. Could it be a prop shaft? or maybe gearbox support? Anyone have had that problem? Clutch been replaced few years ago and is ok. Or it might be dual mass flywheel?

  6. Thanks for that. It doesnt loose a lot of it, about 5 mm on the scale on 60 miles trip, so not too bad. I am going to change cambelt next week so i will replace pump as well, been quoted 320 for both, cambelt and tentioner and water pump. Not bad at all i think.

    Regards

  7. Its an old post, but don't want to start another one with similar problem.. I have bigger leak of coolant. It starts when I have topped up coolant to MAX. Today I could clearly see red marks all over the water pump... Few Pictures and red rings showing affected areas. Anyone have idea what is it? Is just a seal or something more serious?

  9. I just bought my lexus few days ago. I wanted to change the oil in the engine, but previous owner dont know what oil did the service station put in. I know that it suppose to be 5w30, but my engine has 127000 miles at the moment, so I dont want to risk it. If I will put semi synthetic 10w40 Valvoline maxlife oil for the engines with higher millage. Would that damage the engine? thx
