  1. I have had a similar problem and I replaced the failing cog. Unfortuneately I had no idea of the timing setup and I got nowhere with it. I eventually sent it to a place in the midlands, who fixed it for me for £100. I am in Spain for the next 2 months so I cannot get the name and address of the company but I posted it on here last year for a similar query. I got it from my Lexus dealer so ask you local one or phone Lexus Glasgow

  2. Hi folks, I have just driven 1500 miles to bring my 1997 300 to the sunny Costa del Sol. 1 week after arriving I drove about 50 miles up twisty hilly roads and my car overheated and I ended up with no water. Both oil and water had been checked before and after journey to Spain. I was able to top up radiator and limp back home but I had to stop every 5 miles or so and top up radiator with water. There is no Lexus dealer for miles and the local Toyota dealer cannot take me till Thursday. Help!!! any suggestions appreciated. There is no discolouring of the oil, and the car overheats after short distance. there appears to be no bubbles in water.

  3. I have aluminium dust caps on my wheel valves. One of my tyres lost some air and I couldn't get my dust cap off. I called out the AA and neither could they. I had to take my tyre to Quickfit and have the valve cut off. Does anyone know of a way to have them on without them sticking or do I have to put plastic dust caps on all my valves? TIA
