  5. hi everybody I`m trying to find out info regarding the sound system in my gs as I`ve noticed my speakers are a touch crackly when the volume is above background noise. Does anyone know the size of the speakers and tweeters in the front doors and the speakers in the rear passenger doors looks like I may need to upgrade. As anyone upgraded their speakers if so where they straight forward component replacements or did you have to custom fit? Nearly forgot the subwoofer in the rear parcel shelf has anyone altered this too thanks

  10. hi there I`m currently doing trips to buy a gs 300 I`ve currently looked at a few but things need doing to them plus no history or master key Can you tell me from experience as new to these cars how long it should take from cold for the water temp to settle at halfway on the temp gauge one that I`ve seen took about 5 mins to get from cold to halfway the others towards 10 mins to be honest on other cars I`d be borrowing my mates sniffer kit to check if headgasket is going warming relatively quickly. cheers
  11. hi cheers for the welcome I guess from what you mentioned usual wear and tear suspension wise for a big car and checking all electric gizmos due to the age of the car. interesting regarding the braking system cheers for the heads up dare i ask how much your wallet gets emptied if it goes wrong, is there a way of checking all is ok on the brake system never experienced this kind of system. the two links below are what I`ve found doing a quick search. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-GS-300-3-0-auto-SE-Black-beige-leather-/171104809669?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item27d6a432c5 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201303195845438/sort/default/usedcars/price-to/2000/model/gs/make/lexus/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/quicksearch/true/radius/1500/postcode/s654by/page/2?logcode=p found this private too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1999-LEXUS-GS300-SE-AUTO-SILVER-/271285171637?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f29db35b5 Any help and info regarding the links would be great thanks
  12. Hi everyone Just registered after finding the site whilst looking for info on the lexus gs300 usual stuff good, bad I know all cars have niggles also actual owners reviews on other sites etc. I`m going either this evening or early saturday morn to view a 1999 gs300 with about 95k on the clock at a dealership is there anything specific I need to be aware of? I think it is an updated model has twin lights at the front and not a single headlight well i`m new gathered from looking it`s a variant of the supra engine deffo not the supra tt engine pity has fsh also the timing belt has been done recently at lexus so no worries for a while. As a noob to lexus would appreciate some bargaining ammo when i go. cheers martyn
