  1. Thanks bigjap, mine do not light also do the seat position buttons in the doors light as well oh and the headrest switches? Thanks.
  2. Hi all, I have a r plate mk4 and I was wondering if the heated seat switches are supposed to light up? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi Steve That was exactly what the bloke said to me He said no one really needs the parts because they don't go wrong, he actually threw a perfect engine away last week!! They don't use the v8 for banger racing, they have to put a smaller engine in.
  4. Hi all I met up with a valeting supplies rep the other day to stock up on some detailing bits and the first thing he said was , do you need any spare parts as I have six ls400s! I asked why he had so many and he said, I break them and use them for banger racing!! Then he said no one wants the bits , so he ends up chucking them!! Needless to say I have compiled a list of parts for him before they up in a skip
  5. Just an update I removed the seal today, the lip was quite rusty so I ground back and treated all the rust and refitted with some silicon adhesive, most of the water was coming in through the aerial as it was loose, I removed the rubber boot and put a bead of adhesive silicon around it, now all tight and no leaks that I can see I still have not put the carpets back as they are drying out indoors, I also bought a couple of moisture traps , one in the boot and one in rear footwell, so soon the rear screen might stop fogging up all time!
  6. Hi Steve Many thanks for that, I did notice someone had put a hole in one of the rubber drain plugs, do you have to remove the boot trim piece to get the seal out?
  7. Hi all I noticed recently my rear screen was fogging up all the time and the boot smelt damp, so I pulled all the carpets out and found water down by the sat nav unit and in the wheel well, I dried it out and have removed the carpets so I can treat all the surface rust The aerial is quite loose but I can't figure out how to tighten it up, any tips much appreciated Cheers.
  8. I have a sealey code reader which has worked on all my previous cars but also doesn't work on the lexus
  9. Lol no worries, all my friends think I'm mental for having a 4 litre car, what they don't realise is that it is slightly more economical than my previous Volvo v70
  10. Thanks everyone for putting my mind at rest. I still can't get over how smooth and quiet these cars are! The one thing I really can't stand in a car is road and wind noise, that's why I have been through nine cars in 4 years
  11. Thanks for the welcome Well that's a relief, I thought someone had taken the bulb out lol Now I just have to fix the aerial and drain the water out of one of the indicators
  12. Cheers all Lol mark Orange County! It sure is tangoland, I'm in lovely Romford
  13. Hi all I just recently traded a Volvo v70 for a 98 ls400 All I can say is that this is the best car I've ever had and I've had a few! I have one question is the check engine light supposed to come on with the ignition? When I turn on the ignition no engine light comes on Thanks in advance
