just bought a 2005 is200,42,000miles, after getting it home and locating the window to check coolant i found the gauge empty,i topped up with red coolant around 3/4 litre ,ran the car around 500 mile and added another 1/4 litre,i hear gurgling noises sometimes behind passenger dash/floor area,and the coolant in system is discoloured,brownish tint,ideas and advice please,as i fear ive bought a pup with head gasket issues,private sale so no chance of refund

just bought 2005 is200,42,000miles it appears to be using coolant,i bought the correct red recommended coolant,have now topped up a few time using around 1.25 litres,the coolant in the radiator is not red though its discoloured ,brownish in colour,i fear i may have bought a pup and my head gasket is on the way out,any ideas please?? or is it just a case of going and getting it tested
