  1. Hi I cannot belive I missed this post in in the North the North East to be more precise. I spend most of my summer weekends in North Yorkshire not really into meets but I do got to the odd classic car show and the pistonheads meet at Malton.

The few of us that are up north seem widely spread out too mate .long way off each other .i was over in newcastle last week .seen not on isf .only ever seen one on the road 4 years ago looked awesum

  2. Yes stu interesting and true comments on many will prefer the isf .horses for courses ,a choice but a lot of money to upgrade from an isf for little gains and looks .buy hey everyone's different so I hope many enjoy the rcf .when the isf first arrived many drooled over it and wanted one ,doesn't seem many are drooling over the rc .i think Lexus should have done a better job ,they have got a solid base with the isf to work off but I think they have spent millions and messed up .

Like Pete says the engine and seats in ours and wehey .

Indeed, if thre do produce a monster turbo model i would be interested once someone else has suffered the bulk of the depreciation :)
    Me too

  4. You're welcome!

Had me going when I bought mine. I had to get the mechanic from the dealership to show me how because like you, the way I had it described to me, it was push to engage.

Never driven anything else with the same system either.

Hahahahah! I got so frustrated when i sat in the car! I tried to push it down so hard, i hope i didn't breake anything! Gearboxes are kinda hard to break right? Really hope so :D!
It's designed to be hard to get in so you don't put it in while driving by mistake .get a shot shifter there awesum .trd if you can find one
  5. Have to say that I went to look at the White car and met the owner.

The limited service history was ultimately what put me off as there were only stamps in the book and no service invoices etc. Having said that, I found the owner pretty reasonable to deal with and the car was offered to me at significantly below the £17.5k in the trader.

I also got a body shop guy that I know to go look at the car for me. There is work to be done to get the car into good nick (which the owner was upfront about) but it was not going to be an unmanageable expense. I was very tempted to take a punt but ultimately I wanted something in better condition and with more documented history with Lexus.

    Gavan

Everyone will take this view and that's why it will sell for little money to a chancer. With a car like this people want to know it has been well cared for. Even if he had done the services himself why not keep the receipts? Makes you instantly think there is something being hidden.

The isf is an enthusiasts car so why not come on the forum and defend the car???

    Here here young man
  6. Noby - this is true re power but on the motorway I still want overtaking ability. Porker looks to be the best of all worlds.

when it comes to overtaking ability i think we could all attest it boils down to the car in front which one is trying to over take and at which speed and gear the overtaking is about to take place.. although say a 911 Carera S sits lower and lighter than an IS-F, the 911 will not accelerate any faster in an overtaking manoeuvre if it happens between 50 to 75mph as they both achive it in 2.4 - 2.8 seconds in fact the IS-F has been tested to achieve 4.5 seconds from 50-70mph in 5th gear compared to the Carrera S's 5.9 secs in 5th when trying an overtake manoeuvre. even a 335d BMW is quicker(4.7 secs) in 5th gear between 50-70mph compared to say a Carrera S overtaking at the same speeds in 5th. so will all depend on the car in front one is trying to overtake.. but the Porshe looks to fit the bill perfectly in terms of what you kinda looking for ..
Lol u certainly do your research mate ,some say train spotter or plane spotter ,hmm your defo car spotter lol
