  1. Well lads took my isf to Lexus carlisle today and watched them carry out a full service and m.o.t.

It was great to watch ,wheels off ,brakes cleaned ,all fluids changed .everything was checked ,passed m.o.t .

All was perfect they said ,no faults and all for 388 quid ,I'm chuffed with that cost .

Thanks to Dave Denny for the deal.

The mechanic took it for a road test ,when he came back with the keys he had a huge smile on his face .

He said omg that's one quick car lol he hadn't driven one before ,he was gob smacked how quick and the noise lol.

Put a smile on my face too.

    Happy days lads .

  3. I agree with John - they are easy to work on (well for most parts) If you are confident in doing it / have the time and space to do it then why not. I think in doing the work yourself it gives you an understanding of how the car works which is a good thing and if you do buy the proper parts and the good stuff then you do know what's being put into the car which is piece of mind to me.

The only time in the past 5 years of ownership that I have put a car into a dealer was my old IS200 and that was a precautionary measure to have the cam belt replaced.

I think if you are keeping the car and plan to do a lot of miles in it (take it over 100k) then no matter what the history is then its not going to matter if it has a history or not as a majority of garages will steer clear of high milers as the perception is still there to avoid them - only the few in the know about these types of car can confidently buy them.

Yeh your right about the history mate , you might as well do it yourself when miles get high , the sad thing is I've taken mint cars into garages with full history , and I've taken a bit tatty cars in to and the just give you book price , maybe a hundred quid or so for a cleaner car . Absolute tat .
