  1. Hi My new(ish) IS200 has developed an intermittent misfire. It drives absolutely fine 99% of the time, but occasionally it feels a bit sluggish when accelerating. It goes back to normal after about 10 seconds and that's generally it. I've checked for codes and have the following: P0300 - random/multiple cylinder misfire detected P0301 - cylinder 1 misfire P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire P0303 - cylinder 3 misfire P0304 - cylinder 4 misfire P0305 - cylinder 5 misfire P0171 - system too lean (bank 1) Also these, but they only show up if I do a code check with the ignition on but engine off, so I'm assuming it's due to slightly less juice from the battery: P0003 - fuel volume regulator control circuit low P0143 - O2 sensor circuit low voltage (bank 1 sensor 3) I've had stuff before (on the wife's old Ka) where the codes don't necessarily point to the underlying cause of the issues, and it became an expensive lesson in trial & error working out what was the culprit. So, before I go all nuclear on my bank card and start buying coil packs, spark plugs, O2 sensors, fuel pumps, all that jazz, does any of the above point to one thing in particular? Thanks in advance.
  2. I've noticed that the sunroof seal on my 200 is on its way out. It's the foam bit rather than the rubber seal that's knackered. It has started to come away from the glass and it's taking the rubber bit with it, resulting in an unsightly mess of unseated rubber on the roof. Are there any DIY options to sort this, or am I better of just getting one of the many complete sunroof units available on eBay? Cheers. Andy
  3. Problem solved. It was the fob battery being too weak. Was getting an LED flash, just nothing happening. Off to get the spare key cut and then a fun morning doing the pedal & door dances.
  4. I bought a 2000 IS200 SE this weekend just gone, which only came with one key. Going by the info on here, it's definitely a master key (black, 3-button, manually opens boot & glove box, security light goes off instantly when put into the ignition). The remote central locking doesn't work though. I'm 99% sure it's just the fob battery, but I'm paranoid that if I go ahead and change it I'll reset everything and not be able start the car. I have a new Lexus key ready to be cut and programmed, but I'd like to get the one I have sorted first if possible. I've looked through all the various "Door Dance" stuff, but they appear to need a working master key in the first place for anything to work. As I say, my key works as far as immobilisation and manual unlocking, but not remote unlocking, so none of my efforts have worked. Anyone else had a master key that doesn't remote unlock and sorted it out without resorting to Lexus/auto locksmith?
  5. Hi, New to Lexus ownership, having just bought a 2000 IS200 SE. Previous cars include Rev2 & Rev3 MR2 Turbo, Mitsi Legnum VR4 and most recently a 400bhp FD3S RX7. If I didn't have a wee boy, I'd still be driving that, but the missus suggested something a bit more family friendly... Loving the car and the drive so far, certainly a lot more civilised than the RX7 ever was. I've finally just got round to replacing the dash bulbs that were out. Well, nearly all of them. There are a couple with no bulb in: ominously, the engine check light and the TRC off one. I've swapped bulbs from the dash to those spots and they're not coming on when the ignition's on, but it would obviously be sensible to have something in there in case anything does go wrong. I can find the bulb types I need through various searches, but I can't find the part number for the plastic twisty bulb holders anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers, Andy
