  1. Actually the fluid is a darkish brown colour
  2. Hi guys i need some advice. I have a is200 se 99 with genuine 60k miles. My question is...based on the low mileage is it worth doing the auto fluid change? Ive heard so many conflicting comments, some people say to leave it if nothing is wrong, some say to change it. One thing to note is the fluid is a golden brownish colour.however there is nothing wrong with the gearchanges, all smooth. Also do i need to change the filter or can it just be cleaned? Obviously i will be using the type 4 fluid and change would be done by a specialist. But am confused as to whether the fluid needs changing, Thankyou
  3. To report back, changed front brake discs and the noise has almost gone. Company ng to the conclusion that either the alloy slightly buckled or that the tyre is damaged. However the noise is barely noticeable. Getting alloys refurbed, will find out then if its buckled or not.
  4. Kool thanks for your help.i will change the discs and report back
  5. Thanks mate.yeah i think it might be the front osf disc. It has a a 2mm ridge which goes all around it. Also when braking to a near stop slowly i get a click click sound. As far as my calipers are concerned ive had them replaced along with new slider pins. So i guess it must be my brake disc that is messed up causing this sound. What u reckon?
  6. Here you go.found these lot in notts.. http://www.dcautosltd.co.uk/mobile
  7. Try and find a Japanese specialist. In london i got interim done from jem ltd for £110.this also included a full health check comprising of all suspension components checked etc. A full service they charge £210. Thats the kinda prices u can get from a jap specialist. Much cheaper than lexus
  8. The sound sometimes is more pronounced, sometimes less so.it comes once the car has been driven for a few mintues
  9. Oh ok. Well the osf tyre is outer 3mm middle 4mm inner 3mm. But what concerns me is the fact that i get a grinding sound aswell front osf when at full lock and slow, could this be linked to the whoop whoop whoop sound front that side aswell? I had the reputable JEM ltd of colindale have a look at the car after a service. They said my ball joi ts and wheel bearings had gone. But i replaced all of them anf i still get this sound
  10. Hi there new lexus is200 se owner here. Great site. I recently bought an is200 se with 50k on the clock. I have a strange sound coming from the front drivers side. It is a humming revolving 'whoop whoop whoop' sound when going between 25-30mph. It sounds just like what people describe as wheel bearing failure sound. However i have had both wheel bearings replaced, along with both upper and lower ball joints on both sides of the car. Also i have had the drivers side caliper and sliding pins replaced. Also i have tried to bend the backing plate so there should now be a better clearance between this and the rotor So what in the hell could be the problem?!! Also to note...at full lock to the right, there is a grinding noise.could this be related? i have noticed that the rotor on this side has rusty groove marks, but could this really cause this sound even when not applying brakes? Im sorry for the essay, but im at a complete loss as to why i still have this sound considering ive replaced the bearings, ball joints, caliper and sliding pins on this side of the car!! Thanks for any insight
