With any luck I’ll be picking up my new RX in a week or two.

Lexus RX450h is no longer shown on the Lexus website.

Glad my new one is getting delivered next month. I’ll have a look at the RZ in a year or two when they’re in stock.

I’ve used the colour matched Lexus ones on my IS, NX and RX. They won’t stop you getting dings in the door panels from other parked cars, but they will stop you damaging your door edges. Easily fitted using a rubber mallet.

Just going thru the motions of swapping my 2018 RX sport for a new premium sport. Planned on getting the RZ but a year is too long to wait. Said I wanted a decent trade in price and match what was listed on Autotrader price wise.

This is from the USA market, not sure if it’s applicable to U.K. models.

I've regretted selling my beloved 2005 SEL ever since I drove her to Milton Keynes and drove home in a 450h Premier. I kept the 2005 from new for 14 years but the Premier lasted just over a year ! The ride in my 69 plate Takumi is a little better than the Premier but nowhere near as tranquil as the SEL.
I can still feel the engine thrubbing against the body at 1,100 rpm and it still annoys me that this happens. I have more bells and whistles than I can use on the Takumi but being able to feel the engine vibrate the cabin is the thing I hate the most.
Alan
Been getting a similar vibration on mine at 1100rpm. Tried an extra couple of vibration dampers on the exhaust, but no real change. What to do now, go for the new updated model, wait on the next generation due out soon or wait for about a year for the RZ.
-
Lexus has now released the prices and specs for the RZ ranging from £62500 to £72000 depending on how many bells, whistles and goodies you opt for. I think the info is initially aimed at potential customers who have put down a fully refundable £500 to be at the front of the queue.

I wouldn’t bother about the Out of Spec Reviews as they’re American and only use half the voltage we do, plus their gallons are smaller. 😄😇😉

More than likely the 12v Battery getting weak. Once they start going duff the car sends out loads things. Give it a good run and see how long it lasts.

It’s a Puredrive Purestorage 10kwh AC input as the inverter we have in the loft for the panels sends the AC down to the consumer unit under the stairs. Getting about £900 pa from the panels which will continue for another 13 or 14 years.
-
Pre order done and just have to wait and see how my electricity bills turn out. 4kw solar panels been on the roof for 11 years and a 10kwh Battery going into the garage in a week or two. Before the recent increases in electricity and gas I was paying £156 per month, it’s now up to £375 per month on the new tariff.

Not a bad rate Collin for making tea and being a Gopher in your first year ?🤣
Seriously, you and most of my peers who became Tradesmen after joining Vauxhalls or Shell in the Sixties are sadly a dying breed with skills and experiences which are not available to employees and have not been for at least 25 to 30 years. Many of you took early retirement or became self employed in what were rewarding and successful businesses.👍👍👍
Your correct, first hour and a half was road testing a brush round the workshop. All that stuff over my first twenty years gave me enough experience and confidence to get taken on by the United Nations Dept of Peacekeeping Operations. 22 years later it was retirement time and lots of memories about the people I met and dozens of countries I worked in.

Slightly off topic, but just the rambling of an old fart. I was simply trained years ago on a five year apprenticeship working in a Ford dealership. After completing my time I went on to Rover, Jag, BMW, Grass Machinery and then onto HGV. You just need to look at the huge changes in vehicle technology to see that it’s a constant learning process. For the first year as an apprentice I was on the princely sum of Two Pounds Sixteen Shillings and Tuppence per week.

You can also buy 3M clear adhesive plastic strip in various lengths and widths, then cut it to the size you want. Have a look on amazon.

Seeing that the EV6 is fitted with a vehicle to load plug, I wonder if I can fit our heat pump dryer in the back. Multi tasking, washing dried and car and occupants nice and warm.

Have a 2 hr test booked for next week, if it’s a go it’ll be GT-S with heat pump.
-
I’m only doing less than 6000 per year and also looking at the Kia EV6 GT-LINE S. If I go ahead with the order it’ll be early next year for delivery as I’d want it with the heat pump.

Can’t remember how to do it, but I set mine for the wheel to retract and the seat to stay in the same position. It’s somewhere in the settings, no special coding needed. To make sure the steering wheel motor doesn’t get buggered up, I wait until it’s stopped moving before holding the wheel while getting out.

Lexus Edinburgh doesn’t give a discount for gold card members on servicing, but you will get a discount on repairs.

Couple of months ago My local Lexus dealer offered £29000 for my 2018 RX Sport with 16,000 on the clock. Checked out the Wizzle site and they came back with offers around £31,000 to £32,000. Yesterday WBAC offered £33,500. Motor trade seems to be going loonytunes.

If we’re all going over to hydrogen and electric power, then seeing as they need electricity to produce the hydrogen we're going to have problems from what they say. According to the esteemed politicians the grid is going to fall flat on its arse. Instead of rushing to upgrade the grid in panic, why not spend the money on the police so they can go after all these cannabis growers who are stealing all the electricity. The scaremongering from the experts say that when everyone plugs in there’s going to be power cuts, but people don’t all plug in at the same time, just as everyone doesn’t turn up at the filling station for petrol at the same time.
