Had been trying without joy for a while to re-program my 2002 IS200 key fobs, eventually admitting defeat, and taking them into Lexus to be done. Turns out they were not able to program them either, and further to that said the ECU was returning and error code 'B1242 wireless door lock tuner circuit'.
They couldn't say more than that without performing further diagnostics (£110 per hour), so I thought I would have a look for myself, and see what I could find on that error. Turns out, not much info about.
Whether it's likely to help I don't know, but I started to look into replacing the wireless receiver, seems they can be picked up for about £15. Anyone got any experience with this, from what I can make out it would mean taking the back seats out just to get under the parcel shelf?
