  1. Just some cheap Alpine E types. They arrived in the post today and to be fair, although they cost me next to nothing, they look well made and are heavier then expected. They're only rated at 20W RMS and they have a high efficiency rating, so they should run fine off the standard head unit. If I end up amplifying the system I'll probably need to upgrade them, but as stated, they were really cheap so not that fussed. Anyway, one more sleep to go before I pick up the CT. No doubt I'll have another restless night sleep!!
  2. Hi mark Let's hope the speakers I bought work okay. If not, I'm probably going to amplify the system and change the remainder of the speakers which should hopefully work out okay.
  3. Thx, I'll keep this in mind for the future if reception drops. Hopefully won't be an issue when I pick the car up.
  4. Hi all, When I test drove my CT prior to purchase I tried to test my tomtom live subscription which I use on my iphone tomtom app in the car. For some reason it would not allow me to log onto live services. When I spoke to the salesperson who then called in the master technician he advised that some owners had complained about reception issues to live services. Have any advance owners experienced this or heard of this? If so, is there a fix? Of course, Lexus are going to check to make sure there isn't a problem that they can resolve before I take delivery. Hopefully I was just doing it wrong. Thanks for any responses.
  5. I'm a massive fan of Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 2 tyres. Admittedly I've always put them on performance cars, which might be a bit overkill on the CT. Some good websites to get good deals are either Blackcircles or Etyres.....non affiliated to either!
  6. It never was a big deal for me either until I had a courtesy car with keyless entry. I really found it convenient, especially as my pockets are often full of junk. Nevertheless it wasn't a deal breaker hence my purchase. On the other hand re the reversing camera, I'll be interested to see if this becomes a nice to have for me as currently it doesn't excite me. Anyway, I've already started scouring the internet for bits and bobs to do to the car. First purchase has been some replacement coaxial speakers to replace the base model dash speakers. I've read on the CT200h forum that this can make a big difference so looking forward to seeing the difference for myself.
  7. Hi Paul Mines black with black/dark grey Tahara. I've been a long time subscriber to tomtom live, so this was a major plus on this model. The only thing I wish my model had which the new one has as standard is keyless entry. Pick mine up from the dealership on Thursday....can't wait. Thx
  8. Greetings all, Well I've done it and bought myself a CT200h advance today from Lexus Edgware. It's a 2013 (first registered 2014) ex demo with 2200 miles on the clock. Ended up negotiating it down to £18,250 which I think is a cracking deal....actually quite surprised at how much value has come off the car after such a short period. I was thinking about buying the newer model, but I much prefer the live services on the tomtom system, plus the £7k saving off a new one also helped a lot. I do a fair bit of driving for work, so good MPG was vitally important. I managed to average 58 MPG in the 24 hour loaner car on a mixture of Central London and motorway driving. I'm pretty happy with that, as I suspect I'll get better mileage once I get more familiar with the car. Having done my sums, I figure that I'll be saving around £200 a month in fuel! Anyway, I look forward to reading up on the car in the forum and hope I can contribute in due course. Thanks Michael
