  1. :whistling: Hi guys, i have been using a product for over a year with great results. Once i have given the wheels a birthday the easiest way to keep them clean is use MUC-OFF, you just squirt it on, aggitate the nasty bits, leave for two minutes and rinse, its completely safe and enviro friendly. I use it every wash and it only takes a couple mins per wheel. You can find this on the net, i buy it in 5 litre cans and it lasts about three months if used sparingly, cost around £19. Found this when i went to look for a quick cleaner for my mountain bike. My Sport wheels are a pain to clean so this means more time down the pub.
  2. I need to get some new plates made up for my IS200 and am having difficulty finding anywhere that makes the taller ones for the rear of the car. Even Lexus Hatfield and Edgware only do standard size ones. This must look really odd on their Is'.

Does anyone know of anywhere in the Bucks/Herts area that might do them.

    Thanks

:driving: Try this one www.numberplate-solutions.co.uk you can change anything and view the plate at the same time. To get the additional funnies you have to select show plate but to remain legal choose the standard font. Have fun! :winky:

  3. Any local meets in any of these areas?

Be good to meet some fellow Lexus owners.

:driving: I live in ickleton, near Duxford. Have never heard of any meets around this area, strange because the M11 is so close and a lot of the time when i am passing Duxford airfield they are having some sort of car club meeting which is a perfect venue. :D

  4. Matt, i got my 98 GS300 sport mkII in 2002, it is black with tinted windows and i purchased it from Lexus Bolton. They did not mention the tinted windows. What's more amazing is i had a side shunt and had to replace the drivers door and the window, it was done at a Lexus approved repair centre. They said they had slight trouble in matching the tint but they found the NEW Toyota tint was the closest. This was 6 months ago, so are Toyota breaking the law ?

  6. :hehe: Like Steve, i am Technical Manager/Licensed Engineer for an airline at Stansted and believe me that pilot was a hero. This was an extreme condition which he understood to be a possible computer error, so many times pilots do not always believe what they see initially but their training tells them to analyise the situation before corrective action.

There are a hell of a lot more incidents which the public are not aware of, not as bad as this one, which are notified immediately to all the industry so they can put their own action plan together to prevent another occurence. With such a large database to use, over many years, this has helped the safety records for aviation to be one of the best forms of transport we know.

Example: within 24 hours ALL Airbus operators were aware of this incident.

With my knowledge i still fly regulary, so do not panic and treat the experience of flying as part of your holiday and enjoy it !

Have a good trip Dave ! :winky:

  7. I work for an executive charter airline and we fly pop stars, football teams, and celebrities such as Bruce Springstein, Phil Collins, Madonna, Westlife, most car manufacturers incliuding Lexus for the new 430 Sports launch (got some nice headrest protectors). They all have time for you and are not at all as they are portrayed in the press, they are just like everyone else and they can have their bad days, just ask Rod Stewart!

I will see if i can dig out some more of those headrest protectors and let you all know, they are white with Lexus in Black, standard airline type.

    Cheers, Gerry

PS anyone tell me what are those red squares and the WARN 0% next to my name ?

  8. :whistling: What a muppet i am, the company is at the bottom af this page already, it is Kent Metal Finishes. As a new member i'm allowed the first boob. I must admit they did seem very friendly and helpful so here go's.

Anyone know where i can get the sports decals for side windows or did they not put these on the series 2. My car is out of repair now and they have done a fantastic job, anyone needing a good place near Cambridge, Lexus approved, just contact me.

    Gerry.
