  1. Hi Guys, quick update from me. My problem has been fixed. issue was a faulty EGR. I ordered a used EGR from Ebay and replaced it myself. Power has returned to normal, the car shake has gone. sounds and drives like new. here are some pictures of the old EGR clearly there was an issue which you can see in the picture. what I am more annoyed about is that the garage that cleaned the EGR out didnt notice this. or they caused the damage when cleaning it. who knows. The gap possible would cause vacuum issues within the engine thus giving me the issues i seen. what do you think?
  2. No more error codes. even checked with my cheap scanner. I might just get a second hand EGR valve and replace it as it's probably the cheapest option right now. after that I am not sure what to do.
  3. Car gets driven everyday with a mix of local and motorway. car does around 36mpg average. how would one know if the EGR is faulty? is there a way to test it? i haven't checked the filters. i wouldn't know how to check the fuel filter. The has done 48K and has a full Lexus service history., next one is due @51K.
  4. Hi guys, i own a IS220D 2010. last week while driving the car the management light came on, car suddenly lost power. After taking it to a local garage they diagnosed it with error P0400 egr valve they advised to clean the EGR valve. after having this done, I took the car back no more engine management light however the car has no power under 2000 revs. once it hits 2000+ the turbo kicks in and the car pulls. this is occurring in all gears. i took the car back and the guys took the EGR valve off to re-check it. confusingly there was more soot on there. not as much as the first time but they were concerned that it shouldn't have been that much. Another thing i have noticed is that when the car is turned off the engine kinda shakes the car. hard to explain. So I took the car to lexus who said as they cannot read any error codes they have nothing to work with, they even took the EGR valve off and confirmed it was cleaned. They advised me to keep running the car until the light comes back on. To fully diagnose the car they said it would be costly?? i know Shahpor who has a similar issue. just wanted to see what everyone thought. ps. this car had a blocked DPF last year and it was cleaned out by Lexus. That time the limp mode it was in was different there was no power what so ever and wouldn't do more than 40mph.
