  1. always hate to see a loyal car go to someone else myself too, but thats being a petrolhead for you. even in my once hobby / sport of banger racing, i was racing someone elses car at some point, that too may have been loved, and i even poured love back into it to prepare it for racing.. when its end of life eventually came, it was a mixture of pride / happiness / and sadness to see it crushed or minced into fragments of metals - but - thats all a car really is before we get them, pieces put together like a clever jigsaw puzzle. to shred them is merely returning them into its pre loved state, then along its usefull life it becomes loved for a while.. a strange way to think of cars perhaps, but a true one never the less... be happy with your new love JP...
  2. thanks for the reply scudney. after a few years ownership, i`m still learning about my is200. ian..
  3. morning all... strange thing came about in a reply to a request about a secondhand screen, the guy asked - was mine was "heated" like the rear ? stumped on this - true or false anyone. thanks, ian.
  4. OK, some better news guys.. earlier I phoned the Insurance company`s "unhelpful" lines to be put through to the accredited glass replacement company. explained my thoughts to the very helpful guy who talked me through things... Now, reading through my online Insurance details and straight talking to the acredited glass replacement company showed most of you were correct in saying £75 is required at point of fitting, and my full NCB "should" be retained BUT held for 1 year in a bond if you like, to see if any more claims have to be made... just hope my insurer sees it that way So, yes, thanks for your imput on this, and it must be said, it did make me feel better about phoning through. a second hand screen would have come pre stressed by years of weathers and use anyway, let alone the price. just waiting for the golden eagle to drop some ££`s into my pension pot.....lol
  5. as they say - "the devil is in the detail" I insure 3 cars, of which one was damaged in the same place parked within 2 months of each inicident.... it was bright yellow, and the second day was in bright sunshine.... insurance companies dont like paying out it seems...lol agree though, the is200 needs a diferent insurer next time... i can get a second hand screen fitted in romford (60 miles away) for £120, have family that way so can visit, but trying more locally first....
  6. thanks for the quick reply, but, the small print requires £100 PLUS 2 years loss of NCB.... thats not so nice.. a solution will be sought i hope. ian
  7. hi all, I dont post much, or even this maybe in the wrong place, but, i need a cheap front screen fitted for my X plate is200... second hand is just fine if ok.. i live in clacton on sea, essex, so would like a local`ish firm if possable. i`m not tight, but a 67 year old pensioner who has loved his is200 for the last 2 years... as a daily driver it makes me smile each time i drive it.... thanks in advance, ian..
