I also have the option of leasing a new car.....my work has a scheme through Lex Autolease where we can get anything below £40k and under a certain carbon emissions.
The payment will come off my wage before tax too so will save on it that way, although I believe my tax code will change.
Everything is included such as insurance, tax, servicing and consumables...just have to put fuel in it.

That Golf looks nice Flytvr....I'm inclined to push her in the direction of something bigger tho as the space would be handy.

I was in a similar position and I went for the RX, great car, carries everything in comfort, did a few European trips in it, cant fault them.
What RX do you have? Year, engine etc?

The Alfa Guilietta is a money pit and its genuinely a car that you buy for the looks and nothing else - speaking from experience! It doesn't do anything well at all apart from looking good on the drive.
Cross the Nissan Juke off the list - if I stop one person from buying one, I'll be content - I get all Richard Hammond when I see them.
How about a MINI Clubman? Take the run flats off and its quite good.
My brothers missus has a clubman, I'm not that keen but I will see what she thinks.
My previous car was a Giulietta QV Launch Edition, looked great and went well but it just wasn't that exciting to drive. Build quality on them isn't that great either.
If I was choosing I would stick with either of the 2 Lexus choices.

I had a brera and the 159 estate is a lovely car. Interior is beautiful and they're cheap to buy. Engines are ok also.
Dont discount it just because it's an Alfa, they're really not as bad as people think anymore.
I'm a big Alfa fan and the 159 Sportswagon is a gorgeous car, my previous car was a Giulietta QV....if I could find a low mileage Ti spec 2.4 JDTM I would definitely consider it.
-
The missus might be changing jobs in the near future, she currently has a BMW 116d company car but their is a good chance the new job will not come with one.
Any ideas on what I could get her?
Need something with a decent boot that we can fit a pushchair/our Beagle in, low running costs so cheap road tax and decent mpg, reliable, 5 doors, also something pretty stylish with decent spec such as leather, sat nav, parking sensors etc.
Budget will be around £8,000 - £12,000.
Ones I've shown her that she likes the look of are;
Lexus CT200h, Lexus RX400h, BMW X1, Alfa Giulietta, Alfa 159 estate, Saab 9-3 estate, Fabia/Octavia VRS estates, Nissan Juke, VW Tiguan.

How often does the 2 years for £895 offer come up or is it an ongoing deal?
Mine is up end of May and would like to add another 2 years when it's due.

Ah just seen it's got the different alloys, would be a lot harder to source one of those unless buying new.
-
Genuine front bumper on eBay for £175, and a single alloy wheel for £150 or best offer.
-
My wheels are a lot darker than that, like a dark gunmetal chrome

Anyone have it installed at home or can offer some advice on what to get?
Been a spate of people breaking into houses to nick high end cars in my area and now it's right on my doorsrep.....this week a nearly new Nissan GTR and Civic Type R were taken from the same house, i know the 2 owners as they are brothers from the village I grew up in, and the estate they both now live on is only a few minutes from where I currently live.
Apparently it's a gang from Birmingham who are responsible.
Wouldn't mind having something set up to keep an eye on mine, hopefully these thieves don't know what an IS-F is so it's of no interest to them.
-
Would anyone be interested in an IS-F get together this coming summer at Donington Park?
I attended last year and it wasn't too bad, a lot of the modified car scene but also a fair few supercars including the Aston Vulcan and various owners club groups.
Didn't cost that much for a display slot either and they do track sessions all weekend.

IS-F is my daily, wife has a 116d company car.
Have toyed with the idea of buying a cheap runaround for work that also caters for the kids/dog......would probably get a diesel Saab estate if I do.
-
That blue/black combo would be my number 1 choice. Can't get away with cream leather having 2 young kids.

Does anyone have any information on how many of each colour were sold in the UK?
Also, what different colours were available during which model years?
Regarding interior colour was it just black leather to start off with them ivory leather became an option around 2011? I've never seen a blue IS-F with the black leather though.
-
Haha! Yeah agree on the grey/red combo. Black, white and silver go well with red leather too.
Not to sure about the blue ones with red leather ...... All looks a bit too loud. Ivory interior suits blue more.
Just been looking at the GSFs on Autotrader and was surprised at how many ISFs are for sale....14 at the moment, never known there to be that many advertised before.
-
Must say I'm partial to a bit of red leather.....I'd choose it on the GSF or RCF anyway.

What would be in yours?
Have a browse on Autotrader, eBay etc......can be as few or as many cars as you want.
Will be interesting to see who has an IS-F in it too.
Mine would be;
Lexus IS-F
Renault Clio V6 Phase 1
Porsche Cayman 3.4 S PDK
Alfa Romeo 147 GTA
Subaru Impreza P1.
Should get nice, low mileage examples of all the above within the 100k budget. I was aware the Clio V6 had increased loads in value as I nearly bought one back in 2007 for well under 10k, but didn't realise the Impreza P1 had become so expensive too! Hopefully IS-F's go the same way.

Mine had a Cobra Tracker fitted back in 2008 by the previous owner. Cobra were aquired by Vodafone Automotive back in 2014
I've not bothered reactivating it as the previous owner payed for lifetime subscription but it's not transferable to new owners, plus the yearly premium was a lot more than the savings on my policy.
-
Is there much difference in quality between brands?
A quick browse and I can get 4 litres of Petronas Fully Sythetic 5W30 for £25 and 5 litres of the Gulf equivalent for £30.
Castrol Magnatec is £31 for 4 litres.
Takes around 9 litres doesn't it?

How much is the oil that Lexus provide?
All 8 of its services so far have been carried out by Lexus Coventry, who supplied the car when new, my nearest would be Lexus Derby.
New car for the wife.
