I believe that the sensors been changed

Morning all I've just joined this club and introduced my self In the newbie section I'm picking up my rx300 le the end of the week ..everything is good with it part from the owner is telling me there's a crankshaft sensor warning /light on the dash that can only be switched off at the main dealers. .is this true.. He s telling me that he s tried with a snap on code reader but it doesn't knock it out.. Anybody shed any light on this ? Cheers for any input

Morning all Looks like I'm finally going to own a Rx300le. .. After being driven around in a few of the years..now is the time to ditch the shogun sport and have a bit of luxury... The model I'm getting is the le..the owner tells me it is fully loaded (which after driving a shogun sport is going to be a luxury) It's got 120k on the clock and has just had a major service cambelt water pump etc.. The only concern is that I'm told the cam shaft sensor light message/light is displayed (although it's been changed) and he s telling me it can only be switched off at the main dealers..is this true? I'll put some pics up l8r in the week .. Thanks in advance for any input
