  1. Although I know where I couldn't tell you what it's called. Done some Googling yesterday but couldn't find a diagram of the exhaust allowing me to name the broken section. Anyone got a diagram?
  2. Sounds fantastic but only because it's cracked. Kwik-Fit suggest I need to replace the whole thing but didn't have a price (as it's non-stock) but will have a price by tomorrow. Anybody got any idea what I can expect to pay or where I might source one? Cheers John
  3. Thanks for everyone's help last week. I disconnected the negative on the battery and the limp home mode went away :-) Moving on. Has anyone had their MkII GS300 chipped. If yes, how much more bhp did you get and was it worth the effort/expense? Cheers Jonny
  4. Thanks for the answers/suggestions. To answer some: It's a MkII GS300 No lights on the dash Not washed or been through a water/rain No smoke Looked under bonnet all cables, belts, hoses look in place Will disconnect negative on battery, cross fingers and get back to you.....
  5. Hi, On Thursday I moved a little quicky off from the lights, I had an annoying Range Rover to my left. A couple of miles later I notced that the the power felt a little lumpy, initially I though it was dirt in my fuel (and the fuel light had just come on). The lumpy power feed continued for the rest of my 10 mile journey home. Sadly the following morning it's still here. It seems to strugggle to go above 2,000 rpm and seems to want to change up (slowly) at about 2,000 rpm!!! Is it possible I over revved the engine and it's gone a little over protective? Cheers Jonny
  6. Thanks for the Blackcircles website. looks good for both advice and price. Cheers Jonny " steering judder".... usually thats more likely to be warped brake discs! I thought that too but the front discs were replace at the last service!! Cheers Jonny
  7. I know it's been a while since I was here but I thought someone might help . My GS300 is booked for a service this coming Friday and I hope to have the tyres sorted before then so I can eliminate the steering judder under braking. Yep I got that too. I blame my wife she been taking it to work recently!! Any comments on recommended tyres welcome Cheers Jonny
  8. Hi All, Not been here to often sorry but I'm looking for help/advise. I have a 1998 Lexus GS300 with Michelin Pilot Primacy on the front and Yokohama A460 on the rear. The Yokohamas on the back need replacing and might use Yokohamas again. But should I use Yokohama A460 or is there a better alternative? I do a your average mixture of motorway and A roads, covering some 20,000 miles per annum. And happy to pay around £250 for the pair. Obviously I'll happily pay less for the right choice :D Cheers Jonny
  9. SteveJ, Me thinks you done the right thing..... I've only had my GS300 4 days and I payed more that I originally wanted to spend (granted I bought a Mk II rather than a Mk I) but got a better car. So my available conversion budget is GONE :o so I'll stay petrol for a while and convert later in the yr. No way will the government (and don't get me started on them :tsktsk: ) be allowed to hike prices too much too soon. Still reckon over next three yrs I'll save money and make the car more marketable by converting. Enjoying the first days Jonny
  10. Guys, thx for all the input...... I took delivery today..... spending more than i wanted but my girlfriend told me to go for it!!. Mk II GS 300 SE, metallic blue, FLSH.... v nice
  11. Agreed the gap in price between petrol and LPG will narrow but it's likely to be near 10yrs before they meet, if at all. Have a look here has an excellent calculator http://www.greenfuel.org.uk/ Cheers Jonny
  12. Thx for everyone's posts and pms, finally got a GS300; but not an LPG and not a Mk I, puhed out the boat and got a Mk II SE, 1998 in metalic blue, FLSH in mint condition...... looking forward to the coming weeks, months, yrs :D Jonny
  13. Mike, Sound promising...... will Autotrader have a pic(s)? Cheers John
  14. The sport sounds like the one..... but must be in short supply and hopefully not thrashed by the previous owner(s) :luck:
  15. Intended spending around £7k on a GS300 but which one is the best to get?? :duh: Older low milage or high miler higher spec?
  16. Sure is a dilema, want the GS300 but man they go through fuel like it's free. My previous car was a Nissan 200SX and that too drink especially if you booted it!!! John
  17. Hi Colin, Had a email from Lexus Contact Centre, they don't recommend converting to LPG. They never said don't do it just that the have no authorised/recommended dealers so cannot offer any suggestions....... other than the LexusOwnersClub. Suppose that is some form of recommendation for this site. :D John
  18. Hi all, Still looking to buy a GS300. Been reading numerous posts and while I'm sure the GS300 is the car for me MPG appears low, even more reason to go LPG. Anyone running a LPG or know what type of conversion best suits the GS300?? Cheers John
  19. Cheers Evista, Looks good a little over my budget..... but thanks anyway John
  20. Hi all, Just joined because I want to own a GS 300 (my brother-in-law) has owned 3 and swears by them. But I want an LPG converted model. Anyone got or had one? If so how did it compare with the standard petrol performance? Cheers John
